What can be said about this album that already hasn't been said by other reviewers? This album is a beautiful presentation of jazz and soul that never fails to mellow you out. The now defunct R&B trio of Brownstone presented a marvelosuly lush song for the soundtrack. Their perfect harmony and rich vocals breathe life into "If You Love Me" and provides one of the sets' highlights. Yet though amazing as Brownstone's contribution was, it was the Queen of Hip Hop/ Rap that steals the show here. I was stunned to find out that the lady sings! Her vocals are more than adequate, they are pristine and they resonate with intensity giving her well deserved credibility as a jazz singer. If ever she finds she can't think of another rhyme or just tires of hip hop, jazz singer should be the next frontier she invades. In addition to the Queen's tracks, newcomer Clark Anderson presents a wonderful original compostion in "Give Me Something Real". I look forward to hearing more material from him (hopefully).
In all, this disc is a great buy! Those who fell in love with the movie, as I did, already know that the music presented on this disc is of the first rate. Those unfamiliar with it will be pleasantly surprised!
