on this cd are the great songs "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" and "Orion", 2 of the best songs in the history of Metal, great riffs, great rhythms, great melodies.
the rest of the songs are apart from some nice parts here or there average, nothing special. if you want a cd full of fast metal then this isn't the right cd for you, buy "Reign In Blood" from Slayer instead!
IMO "Master Of Puppets" is NOT the best Thrash-Album of all time, to me it isn't a Thrash Album at all, and it's NOT the best metal album of all time, that would have to be something by JUDAS Priest or Iron Maiden.

The music world will forever be indebted to Metallica for their 80s albums. Master of Puppets often takes first place in greatest metal albums lists. While I don't believe in such lists, I will say that Master of Puppets is not only one of the greatest metal albums, it is one of the greatest albums out of any genre. Aggression, intelligence, musicianship, melody. This album deserves all the praise it gets. My only complaint is that the bass guitar is often inaudible, which is a shame considering that Cliff Burton is such a great bassist.
On a final note, get the DCC Gold Remaster if you can. The sound is significantly improved.

Music? This is not music. It's only the usual poor metal stuff, just like all the other metal rubbish. If you bang your head against the wall you obtain the same frantic chaos inside you. Useless and dangerous, without any porpouse, any importance, any difference from...nothingness. So, make yourself and your health a favour and buy something else, something lightfull and joyfull. I love Master of Puppets and this is one of the finest metal albums ever made by my favorite heavy metal band Metallica. Orion is the best song on it and it has several other excellent tracks like Battery, Master of Puppets, and Welcome Home (Sanitarium). Highly recommended. metalicas 3rd album master of puppets 1986. 1986 was all about metal iron maiden judas priest and slayer were releasing albums a dime a dozen but none of those could touch this magmum opus. Many people consider master of puppets the best metal album ever and even though i personally am trying to decide between ride the lightning and and justice for all for my favirote metalica album. theres no doubt that puppets is a bigger more original and much more complex album than both of those. its stirring. melodic. crushing and powerful. but i still do like lightning and justice better. now lets go to the song by song breakdowns. battery- starts with a flamenco guitar intro. which quickly turns into pulverizing rock not a high point but ok 5-10. master of puppets 10-10- what can i say? this song is awesome. fast as hell. excellent main riff. a beautifal classicaly inspired passage. a mindblowing solo before going raw again this song has it all. The thing that should not be 2-10- terrible skip it. welcome home sanitarium 8-10- chilling in the truest sense of the word. has a very pretty melody and very mellow guitar work before going nuts with thrash metal mayhem another highlight. Disposable heroes 10-10- a vastly underated song. extremely fast precise guitar playing. awesome as hell lyrics and vocals. plus a grand guitar solo which all culminates in a terrific ending one of metalicas very best songs. leper messiah- good guitar solo and some good guitar work 7-10. orion instrumental 10-10- wow this is the best instrumental ever even better than call of ktulu from lightning. beautifal classicaly inspired arangements. breathtaking passages. a good guitar solo. some whammy bar action and jimi hendrix esque guitar work at the end. damage inc 10-10- best song on the album! all in all puppets is a great album if you dont own it put an end to your misery.
