Free Music Notes for It's Time

Free Music Review: Not a bad song on the whole CD!
Hit: 5 Stars

Michael Buble sings like the love child of Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick, Jr., Dean Martin, and maybe a little Perry Como and Andy Williams thrown in for good measure. The guy is Not only that, he has an unerring instinct for the unusual song arrangement. How do you take "Can't Buy Me Love" and turn it into an homage to both the Beatles and Benny Goodman-era swing? Somehow, Buble manages to do it. And in "Feeling Good," the opening track on this CD, he injects a considerable amount of James Bondesque thematic stuff--check out the snazzy, brassy horn arrangements here.

When he's paired with anyone, he's going to make them sound better than they might on their own. I'm not a big Nelly Furtado fan, but on their duet on "Quando, Quando, Quando," he makes her sound worth longing for--and she sounds simultaneously innocent (in her aching for him) and sultry--as though she's slinking across a piano wearing little more than Chanel No. 5 and a smile.

"Save the Last Dance For Me" becomes a salsa/samba/tango tune that is less about dancing and more about what happens at home after the dancing--and on "Home," a tune Buble had a hand in writing, he addresses his own frenetic touring lifestyle and the importance of remembering who's waiting when the tour is done. All in all, a stellar, outstanding effort by an adventurous and talented musician.

Free Music Review: WOW
Hit: 5 Stars

I love all genres of music but hold a special place for jazz in my heart. I bought Michael's album "Its Time" because I love jazz and those whose musical opinion I value gave it the thumbs up. I popped it in and listened to the first track, "Feeling Good". Starts slowly, unassumingly... then WOW, it starts swinging, he starts showing off his vocal prowess, and I sat there with my jaw dropped and knew INSTANTLY this guy was something special! Its rare that I like a song the very first time I hear it, I've never loved one the first time I heard it. I LOVED "Feelin' Good" the first time I heard it, and had the same reaction to track 4, "Quando Quando Quando." Most of these songs are covers you will recognize, but the really amazing thing is that Michael makes them sound different... you feel like you're hearing them for the first time. Michael's voice is like a hybrid between a young Frank Sinatra and Harry Connick Jr., but his style is 100% his own. I literally have not stopped listening to this album (all tracks are great) since I bought it. I am going to see Michael perform in Memphis this August (2005), and I couldn't be more excited! I am very thankful for such a wonderful young artist who is bringing this fabulous music to the masses (and to many young fans previously unexposed to jazz). This music- and Michael Buble'- should be celebrated!

Free Music Review: Thank You, Sunday Morning
Hit: 5 Stars

With so many reviews I am basically doing this to be able to rate the CD, which I gave five stars to. My sister had made me aware of a Sunday morning show hosted by Charles Osgood called Sunday Morning which usually features a singer or group each week. One Sunday it was Michael Buble and I decided I liked his style. I am not a Frank Sinatra fan, nor a Dean Martin, Paul Anka or Perry Como. I am a recent Guy Lombardo fan who awoke in me an interest in big band music which is a definite change of pace from the guitars, banjos and fiddles used in my favorite types of music -- folk and bluegrass. I was and always will be a Beatles' fan, so I chose this one for Can't Buy Me Love. I did recognize You Don't Know Me, Save the Last Dance For Me, and How Sweet It is. I played the disk and just let myself be enveloped in the sounds from trumpets and saxophones. What struck me from the start was how much it reminded me of the end song in the DVD Finding Nemo called Beyond the Sea with the feel of a lounge song. I enjoyed Buble's singing though I would not be able to compare it to similar style musicians as I don't listen to them. The tempo was soothing and exciting at the same time, and liked that he hadn't changed the sounds of the selections I was familiar with. Whether I will buy another of his CDs or not, I am very pleased with It's Time.

Free Music Review: Why Complain? Buble is GREAT for younger generation
Hit: 5 Stars

Okay, I see all of these reviews from old people regarding how Michael Buble is a wannabe Frank Sinatra (who the heck is that?? - is what many teenagers will ask themselves!) Point is, our parents don't want us to listen to Marilyn Manson or Gangsta Rap. Here comes a young guy with music that truly is something different or new to teenagers and you get people that just trash on it. Wrong! Give a cd with a photo of an old man (Sinatra, Davis Jr, etc) to a teenager and they will throw it back at you.

Michael Buble is young and new to me! I like his voice and his music. All are great songs on this cd, but my favorites are "Feeling Good", "Quando, Quando?" (duet with Nelly Furtado), and "You don't know me". Everyone has their favorites. One of the reviews called michael's renditions whinny and a parody. Wait, haven't many rappers taken old classic songs and added bad words to them? Hmmm, I wonder what is best for people to listen too? You choose. Michael has a nice clean tone to his voice. This cd has a good variety of RE-MADE classics that do justice to the old versions (which I have checked out!).

To end this review; If you like jazzy, mellow music, or big band tunes, check this CD out. It is great! I downloaded the whole cd for 10 bucks. Go out and get it! - 19 year old KID

Free Music Review: Is there a Michael Buble' 12 Step Program? I am so addicted!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

OH MY GOSH!! OH MY GOSH !! OH MY GOSH !! I now know what it feels like to have an addiction! Anyone know of a Buble' "12 Step" program? My family wants to have an "intervention." But I can't help it! I can't stop listening to this or "Caught in the Act!" I am soooo addicted to this guy and his voice (not to mention the fact that he is ADORABLE - if I were only 20 years younger!) Whenever I listen to his music I have a huge smile on my face the whole time. And the effects last for hours! Which is why I can't stop listening! But what a wonderful addiction to have! I can't wait for his next project so I can get my next "fix!" I even bought new stereo equipment just so I wouldn't miss a note! I'm listening as I write this (of course!) and he is singing "Song For You" and I have to keep stopping just to listen - it truly makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck! Can't think of any other singer who does that for me. When he sings "You and I" - well - I can't even put it into words. It makes me feel like no other song ever has before. What a wonderful gift from God - to be able to make people feel this way!

Michael - you have a fan for life here! This is one addiction I'm hanging on to 'cause it feels sooooo gooood!
