Free Music Notes for It's TimeFree Music Review: A Swinging Crooner for our Generation Hit: 5 Stars
I really adore this album. It has a nice mix of slow ballads and swinging big band standards. My favorite song was written and composed by Michael and is called "Home." It actually has a more mainstream sound to it, but shows his versatility as a singer. This is because he shows he isn't just an old soul crooner, but can pull off contemporary music as well.
His big band classics make me want to get up and dance without a care about how ridiculous I may look. (Careful - his music can have that effect on a person!) And he has this wonderful ability to take any cover song and make it his own. His remakes take on a new life and his techniques are ingenious.
Michael has one of those unique, mellifluous voices that warm the cockles of your heart, especially when he sings ballads. I think he is the equivalent of Frank Sinatra for our generation. He has managed to modernize music that spans over half a generation, yet stays true to the genre and musical integrity of the classics.
Free Music Review: This is good music Hit: 5 Stars
It's Time is a pleasure to listen to. Michael Buble is a very talented singer. He sounds like the Frank Sinatra of the 21st century. He even covers the classic Sinatra song I've Got you Under My Skin superbly. He also covers the Beatles hit Can't Buy Me Love here, and he gives it a pleasant lively spin. My favorite track is Home though. It is an excellent song about being away from someone you love and longing to be with that person. Another highlight track on this CD is the duet with Nelly Furtado Quando Quando Quando. It is a very romantic song about two people in love. I also enjoyed the song Feeling Good. It is an optimistic song of renewal. This track has a nice jazz sound to it, that I really liked it. Try A Little Tenderness is a pretty song. It is a reminder to show a little compassion and tenderness to someone who needs it. Buble's voice is so soothing especially on a song like You Don't Know Me. This song is so relaxing. I recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys good music.
Free Music Review: A Fantastic 2nd Venture For Buble Hit: 5 Stars
I must confess, I had fears that Michael Buble's 2nd CD could not do any better than his first. How wrong I was! This CD is absolutely incredible!
Michael Buble has matured so much as a singer and crooner between these 2 albums. On top of that, the CD has amazing up-tempo beats which also includes that fantastic ballad "Home" which makes you feel next to Buble when he sings it.
The arrangements are fantastic and very creative unlike some of the other cover versions I've heard. There's an especially great energy in the swinging tunes, which just makes you want to get up and dance to the beat! Dare I say that Michael Buble is fast on his way to becoming the next Quincy Jones!
Also, I noticed that they took a lot more chances in this CD than they did in the last one, which makes this whole 2nd venture all the more fantastic.
I highly recommend this CD to anyone, not just Buble fans. You'll be swinging and dancing to the beats of the tunes in no time! Enjoy!
Free Music Review: Awe-Inspiring!! Hit: 5 Stars
This album is without-a-doubt worth every dollar! Michael Buble has once again shown his remarkable talent and versatility and his ability to tug at the listener's heartstrings. Although his voice carries shades of singers such as Harry Connick, Jr. and Frank Sinatra, his voice resounds with a more rich, clear tone (and I mean NO disrespect to the aforementioned singers). The thing that I also like about Buble's following is that he has drawn in people of all ages which has allowed them to hear songs from different eras. Although I am only 25 and I admit that I still listen to a great dea of "top 40" music, I agree that music today lacks a richness, sweetness, and timelessness that makes many old songs very worthy of the title of "a classic." I most definitely recommend that you sit back, open your heart, and lend your ears to this tremendous singer. I believe you will be drawn in to the lure of a singer who, by all accounts, shows no signs of fading away any time in the near or far future.
Free Music Review: If you missed Sinatra and Bennett the first time around... Hit: 5 Stars
Buble is a great throwback pop crooner revivalist! The music is hot, sultry, fun, and swinging! In today's uber stressful and fast paced world, he is a 'godsend'! Many people are yearning for substantive things of yesteryear, when America was a better and saner place in so many regards. Or as the author and futurist Alvin Toffler put it in his monumental (then) book 'Future Shock'... "high tech, vs. high touch". Humans are hankering for a bit of "high touch" these days. My only complaint, and it is an industry-wide one, is that this CD sounds a bit compressed in the recording and mastering process. As a music loving audiophile, with serious equipment to evaluate recordings, I am appalled at how record companies put out substandard product these days! This is true not only of this CD, but most others. They should realize that many listeners out there ARE using good equipment, and expect much better product sound-wise. I'm off my soapbox now.
