Free Music Notes for Michael BubleFree Music Review: Thank you for bringing music back to life. Hit: 5 Stars
I first heard Michael Buble' on the television program Dateline. It didn't take long to fall in love with his voice. Even though Michael is singing songs that were previously sung by others, it is refreshing to see a young person coming up through the ranks that sings like a song bird. Again as another said, there hasn't been a new voice since Harry Connick, Jr. I grew up listening to the greats, Crosby, Sinatra, etc., because of my parents; sadly those wonderful voices have passed on. I've learned to appreciate good music. Music is something that is suppose to make you feel good inside. I'm sure that Michael Buble' will soon have his own songs to sing and share with the world along with keeping the classics alive. I refuse to listen to music that makes you nervous and that you can't understand the words to. Someone standing with their guitar and going up and down the neck to create noise is not music to me. Thank you Michael for sharing your beautiful talent with the world. I look forward to listening to your wonderful voice and will enjoy watching your career rise above your expecations. Thank your Grandpa too. :) A fan for life, Jacqueline Pieron Michigan, USA
Free Music Review: American Idol reference recognizes Bublé's impact on music!! Hit: 5 Stars
O.K., so I watched the American Idol show where one of the judges (Jackson) mentioned Michael's name. For Michael to now be used as a 'measure' by which others are judged is a credit to the impact Bublé has had on the music scene this past year. I work in a department store (electronics/music department) and have for the past 6 years so can really see what customers are looking for, and more importantly buying. With little if any promos here in Ontario, Bublé has continued to be a top seller. It is word of mouth that's influencing most buyers decision to purchase this dreamy cd. And word of mouth suggests that his voice and style are only beginning to be discovered. The majority of our customers are professionals in their 40's, but what has been a pleasure to watch is the increase of sales to those teens or early twentysomethings! Bublé has put out a great offering of songs - and without question the final cut on the cd - That's All - is the all time greatest version ever done!! So to the reviewer who dismissed Idol's recognition, take it from me, Bublé DESERVES credit for his rich and beautiful sounding songs. Outstanding cd.
Free Music Review: Now This is Music! Hit: 5 Stars
Until yesterday I had never heard of this singer;Michael Buble'.I put on a headset at the mall and was sampling their featured CD's....this being one of many.To say I was blown away doesn't begin to describe my reation to what I was hearing.I'm a 44 year old who grew up listening to, and truly loves the standards, big band, and 50's and 60's music. I am basically time wharped with my choice of music. The orchestration and arrangements only make this CD better. They already had a great voice to start it all.David Foster turns everything he touches into gold.I had to keep looking at the CD case, because it was hard to believe that someone so young was putting out this amazing sound. Like me, he must have an "old soul". I have already shared this CD with several of my family and they were truly impressed as well. Try doing that with Hip-Hop and Rap....yeah right. With younger vocalists performing these timeless pieces, this music could last forever, and this is one lady who is extremely greatful. I look foward to seeing where this young man's career will take home.He has a new fan in New Jersey.....that's for sure!
Free Music Review: This is one Buble that won't soon burst Hit: 5 Stars
Wow. This is the perfect way to resurrect the older standards and mix them with more recent pop hits. Take a young microphone-friendly Canadian crooner that sounds like a jazzy cross between Mel Torme and Harry Connick, Jr., and it's Anka's away!! Generally, if it's singable, radio-popular material that's got legs, Buble knows how to deliver it. Take "Fever" for instance --Ms. Lee would no doubt approve of the way Mr. Buble sets up each climactic line for the big-band back- up to spike, a la Harry James. Each song has a personality of its own, and in one case even the personality himself shows up (Barry Gibb rising out of the mist enveloping "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart"). "Moondance" is another standout and makes you want to pull your tie off and grab that special someone to go out and hit the floor with. "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" picks up the tempo and does not seem the slightest bit out of place thanks to the cohesive arranging. There is just enough spice to balance the sublime, and just enough city slickness to go with the jungle salsa. This one's a great first at-bat for this promising young artist.
Free Music Review: Don't bash the Buble Hit: 5 Stars
Paige and Frank-
I understand your views completely. For true Sinatra fanatics, Buble may or may not be for you. And that's okay. But I have heard Sinatra. I have a number of his CDs. And since I discovered Buble, my Sinatra CDs now sit tucked away in a box. (Sorry Blue Eyes.) While Sinatra was great, Buble puts an addictive twist on these songs that makes me want to listen to them over and over again. I don't think Frank would mind.
I just saw Buble in concert and it was crazy fun. Besides his overwhelming charm and wit, I adored his music (yes, his music). He sang his own songs from a newer album and almost brought the audience to tears. He also sang his last song without a microphone or his band. It was amazing.
Michael Buble isn't stealing Sinatra's music. He's helping a whole new generation of listeners appreciate those songs. And he's creating his own music at the same time. I can't think of a performer who hasn't sung another artist's songs at some point. Sinatra's estate is getting well paid, I'm sure. The only thing Buble is doing is keeping Frank's songs alive.
