Free Music Notes for Michael BubleFree Music Review: <<<<<<<<this is wonderful music to listen to>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hit: 5 Stars
I read some of the reviews on this site after listening to this album many, many times and can't, for the life of me, understand how anyone with an ear for beautiful music wouldn't love Michael Buble'. I know I'm glad I found out about him and his music.Although I may not be a professional musician, I have had the pleasure (that comes with age!) of hearing some of the greats perform, and this Mr.Buble' rates right up there with the best I've ever heard - and that in itself says a lot. What is so refreshing is that he has his own sound and it's just a treat. He just seems to caress some of the words/songs the way Mr.Dean Martin did, yet he has a raw power that is remarkable. Kissing a fool is a song I was not familiar with before, but I have come to really enjoy it. Put your head on my Shoulder (Paul Anka must be proud) and the Way you look tonight are movie soundtrack material. Overall this is probably the finest album I've purchased in the past ten years. I just hope Mr.Buble' doesn't make me wait that long for his next one. And in concert?? This album is wonderful music to listen to...
Free Music Review: familiar sound, yet very fresh Hit: 5 Stars
I can't stop listening to this cd. Michael Buble has the Sinatra sound we all love with this style of music, yet he's not same old-same old or an imitator. I love the sassy edge he gives to the hot charts, which is reminicent of Bobby Darin, and the tenderness and smooth tone of the quieter moments, which sounds a bit like Mel Torme. I know I keep comparing him to others, but there really is a freshness. The quality of his sound evokes the comfort of familiarity, yet his passion makes it exciting and new. The arrangements are very nice, overall, and he is surrounded by quite an impressive company of muscians; this all launches and supports him well, yet the thing I'm hearing and loving has to do with him. I listen to standards all the time and can get bored with some treatments and some vocalists. I mean, you wouldn't think you'd want to hear anybody but Peggy Lee do "Fever", but Buble explodes this chart into a new realm without being pretentious or disrespecting the classic original. Whatever "it" is, he's got it and I look forward to future projects.
Free Music Review: For MY generation Hit: 5 Stars
Alright people. Deep breaths.
No one is trying to replace Ella, Frank, or Bobby. No one can. No one could possibly reproduce the feeling that the baby boomers felt the first time they heard the sweet strains of Harry Connick Jr. No one wants to.
I am 16 years old. I do not have under my belt the experience of hearing what you heard. Quite frankly, if I heard them now, I might label them as outdated. However, there is undoubtedly an irresistible charm, a magic that lingers about the music of that time period. I don't want to miss out on that.
Michael Buble has taken music that has been copyrighted onto the hearts of America's older generation and has made the sound relevant to....me. To my friends. We can and WANT to listen now. What we might have scoffed as 'old-fashioned' has become delicious to us.
Perhaps we owe Buble a little more than our criticism. He did something rare: effectively brought two generations of music AND people together.
No, he is not one of the crooners of old. He is the crooner of today.
Free Music Review: Absolutely Wonderful!! Hit: 5 Stars
I heard Michael Buble sing "Kissing a Fool" on the Sharon Osborne show (I was flipping and his voice grabbed my attention.) I was so impressed, I had to get it. I am glad to say that "Kissing a Fool" is not my favorite song, while it's great I like "Fever" and "How can you Mend a Broken Heart" the best. "Sway" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" want to make you get up and dance! And "Fever" is fantastic! On the slower note, "That's All" and "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" make me swoon! His voice is amazing and I love the songs. I know I am going against the grain when I say that I am not a big fan of Frank Sinatra, and I don't particularly care for the covers "Summer Wind" and "Come Fly Away with Me". A friend who is a Sinatra fan says he prefers Sinatra. Even with those two songs not being my favorites the rest of the CD is so fantastic, I just overlook it. I would highly reccomend this CD. (Which is exactly what I'm doing!) Go and get it. You will not be dissapointed!
Free Music Review: Would Make Frank Proud... Hit: 5 Stars
While shopping for a book for a school report, I came across the self titled debut album from Canadian export Michael Buble, and bought it completely as an impulse. Later that night, as I listened to it, I realized I should pay attention to my impulses more often. I was blown away, and it automatically became one of the favorites in my collection. Michael's voice is very unique, and resembles astounding characteristics to music great Frank Sinatra, whose charm and classy attitude had audiences amazed for the span of his career. It is not only powered with Michael's sinfully smooth voice, but it has rocking additions such as a back up jazz band, and great mixes of some old time classics, such as "The Way You Look Tonight" and "Fever" giving them a new age kick. This entire album is great, but some of my favorites have to be "Come Fly With Me" and the wonderfully catchy "Moondance". No one can upstage the original, Mr. Sinatra, but Michael Buble sure makes an amazing comparison. A must have for every old school music lover.
