James Newton Howard's soundtrack to Michael Clayton is a haunting sweep of chiming percussion, a dark soundscape of melancholy melody. One minute you are encompassed by hollow echoes and brittle chimes; the next you are set on edge by thundering timpani and sinister piano hooks. This dark abstract weather-system is a moody meditative atmosphere shot through with tense rhythmic interludes. It is somewhat reminiscent of the soundtrack to Solaris, another Clooney film. Both pieces wash over one in sad silvery waves. Free Music Review: Michael Clayton ROCKS!!!

There is something so great about this movie-its called ACTING!!! It is so refreshing to see a movie that is based on the characters and story. This movie woke me up to the talents of George Clooney, Tilda Swinton and Tom Wilkinson. I never tire watching it and catch something new with every viewing. Plus the commentary is fun and very informative. One of my absolutely top movies EVER!!! Also, the soundtrack is very haunting and never in the way!Free Music Review: Michael Clayton CD
