It's hard to believe it has been 25 years since Thriller. I still remember the first time I saw Michael moonwalk on Motown 25. The Thriller album was so popular because it appealed to so many different demographics, something we will probably never witness again. The album related to ages 8-80. The music is still tremendously strong. "Wanna Be Startin" Somethin' is a vocal tour de force and is still influential today (Think the refrain of Rhianna "Don't Stop The Music"). "Billie Jean" a dark, pulsating R&B marvel is arguably Michael's best song ever. "The Lady In My Life" is quiet storm at its best as Michael is over zealous for his true love. Other highlights include the AOR staple "Beat It" with electrifying guitar interplay from Eddie Van Halen and "Thriller" the ultimate Halloween party anthem. There is no filler here as all 9 songs are first rate. It is a timeless album and remains a highwater mark for Michael Jackson and producer Quincy Jones.Free Music Review: Still All Time Greatest with a Bonus Visual Treat

Anyone lucky enough to have been young when this CD came out will forever feel its impact. Nothing even resembling this type music and dancing has ever been done this way before or since. I can not imagine who could do anything like MJ did. He was the best in his prime and I am grateful I was alive to have experienced the mood. I wonder how 21 year olds of today accept this music? In the 80's this was top shelf for dance clubs. People ate it up in giant clubs back then. Soon after this music came Freestyle and the club scene got even hotter. Thinking back,, I owned this as a vinyl record and then a cassette,lol, and now this new type.

Thriller will withstand the test of time. Michael is a genius, he is so
talented, nobody can touch him. I have loved him since I was a child and I
always will. I don't believe any of the things they accused him of. The media set out to destroy him because it was a story they could sell and that's all they care about. His music and talent will live forever and they can never take this away from him. I agree that he didn't need any of these other artists, his songs and music can stand on their own and in my opinion they just take away from his music rather than add anything to it.They can't hold a candle to him.
