Free Music Notes for Michael Jackson: The Ultimate Collection (4 CD's + 1 DVD)Free Music Review: Not A Freak. Hit: 5 Stars
Michael Jackson is not a freak...though many bashers want to stress this false statement. However, I agree with that one reviewer who explained that 1 or 2 people keep coming back to trash this album. Case and point: A reviewer came back to add to his review in a direct response to us divulging his secret. Sad.
Amazon.com is a place where you can review an album that you have bought, or heard thouroughly. If there are reviews talking about his personal fortune, his personal life, and his extortion case, they obvioulsy have no substance or ground to write review on. Talking about his personal fortune, he maintains over a half billion dollar personal wealth fortune. As gullable as people are, they actually beleive he is in debt like Fox New's Roger Friedman says...but the truth...no. Fact: He owns his catalog now and the Beatles.
Talking about the music now:
The best stand out tracks are Scared of the Moon: A dark ballad. We've Had Enough is a clear anti-war song. Though it doesn't bash our current president, it does make clear that there are many people dying. "Love was taken, from a young life, and no one told her why...her direction, was a dimlight from one more violent crime....she gave a silly question why, why her father had to die, she asked the men in blue, how is that you get to choose, who will live and who will die......" Very personal and yet a strong message. Fall Again and Beautiful girl are beatuiful ballads. In The Back is a demo with a catchy beat.
Sunset Driver is a great song that should have been released ealier. Cheater, the first single, is a great rock song that sounds a bit like Mick Jagger. State of Shock is a duet with Mick Jagger. Someone Put Your Hand Out is one the best songs, though it wasn't released into the mainstream public until NOW!
This is the great collection that spans a long time! Box sets don't historically sale well, but I have a feeling this is going to go through the roof. 3 cheers for the King of Pop!
Free Music Review: This is where the focus should be Hit: 5 Stars
This is where the focus should be when it comes to Michael Jackson. Aside from all the scandals, the assumptions, and garbage; this collection definitly proves that Michael is deserving of the title he has been given. I've been a longtime MJ fan and impersonator and feel awful for what the press has done to this man. However strange he does sometimes appear to be, no one has the right to assume guiltiness or any of the other stories made up about him. This collection solidifies his reign in the world of music and artistry.
The collection is well put together, great packaging, and it is also great to have the classic HBO concert on DVD to see the entire package. The unreleased tracks are great with some of the later tracks, "In the Back", "The Way you Love Me", and "We've Had Enough" as the greatest. I'm a little bewildered why Sony would release "Cheater" as a single when there are much more powerful unreleased songs on the collection. The demo of "We are the World" is incredible.
I guess my only beef with this collection would have to be the title "The Ultimate Collection". To us rabib MJ fans, this is NOT an Ultimate Collection by any means. It's a great collection and wonderfully represents his talent, but there are so many overlooked jems. Here's what I think should have been included:
JACKSON FIVE - "The Love You Save" (the 4th number one in a row, it is on the DVD)
THE JACKSONS - "Can You Feel It"
MICHAEL JACKSON - "Leave Me Alone" (rare track, but was a video), "Streetwalker" (from the 'Bad' Special Edition"Heal the World" (is on the DVD), "Will You Be There" (theme from 'Free Willy'), "Scream" (duet w/ Janet), "Earth Song", "Ghosts", "Xscape" (unreleased - very popular with MJ fans of the Internet), "One More Chance" (from 'Number Ones'), "What More Can I Give" (unreleased 9/11 charity song).
Other than that, this collection is a wonderful reminder of the genius Michael Jackson is.
Free Music Review: The Almost Ultimate Collection by The Ultimate Pop Star! Hit: 5 Stars
Unless you are going to include EVERY Michael Jackson song and EVERY demo and EVERY B-Side and EVERY Remix, you can't call any collection of Michael Jackson's music "The Ultimate Collection" but the normally sloppy Sony Records did a nice try with this package.
Out of all the "Best Of" Michael Jackson stuff flooding the market these days, this is the best.
Why?
Well for starters it includes some awesome unreleased stuff from different eras (Sunset Driver, Monkey Business, In The Back)
All the usual Michael hits are here (Except Scream and a few others from HIStory *Disc 2*)
It even offers a very interesting remix on 'Who Is It" (I like Michael's album version better - but the remix is an interesting change of pace.)
The new songs are AWESOME. (The Way You Love Me & We've Had Enough) are just proof enough that Michael never lost his talent and still has it.
The concert DVD shows Michael moonwalking, shaking and singing his heart out from the Dangerous tour. (Must see performances of Billie Jean and Human Nature make this concert a must.)
Personally, I'm still hoping one day Michael releases either a full album of vaulted songs. Because, honestly, some of the vaulted songs on this package (Sunset Driver, Monkey Business & more) are awesome! While they sound dated, they still hold up better than 95% of the music being put out today. And that says a lot.
Will The King of Pop stand up? Welcome to the stage Michael Jackson. Or in this case your CD player. Buy The Ultimate Collection and you will have Michael's hits waiting for you to discover over and over again along with some vaulted songs and new stuff! Ultimate Collection - Nah, not hardly. Awesome Collection - Without a doubt! Cheers!
Free Music Review: Michael Forever! Hit: 5 Stars
It doesn't matter what anybody says about this man, he is the epitome of a pop superstar, legend, performer, entertainer, songwritter & vocalist. His presence alone makes people cry & pass out, it's as if they're going through an exorcism. What other human being in this world has that kind of effect on people? You don't have to be a fanatic to see the phenomenal talent that this man has. All these popstars out there today: Justin, Usher, britney, beyonce, etc. are doing things MJ did 20 years ago yet people worship them & bash MJ. These people wouldn't even be here had it not been for him. This boxset is great, "Fall Again" & "We've had enough" show why Michael is the great music maker he is today. The 1992 concert? Truly amazing & Michael at his best. When doesn't he do a show stopping performance? From the time he first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show to Thriller to History & beyond, he has changed the world & revolutionized popular music & this box set traces that journey. Michael Jackson is the definition of an icon & I find it so unfair that people choose to pick him apart the way they do all because he's extremely rich & extremely influential & they're just too damn jealous to handle it! Michael broke? HA! That man has income coming in from a thousand & one different places. All he has to do is give one concert & that'll generate 10-15 million bucks right there & if he went on tour... well, I think you already know. Michael is the king of Pop & there will never be another like him. That man commands respect when he shows up at award shows & he knows that no matter what happens, his fans got his back!
Free Music Review: One of the best things to ever happen to music!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Michael Jackson...what a legend. A career spanning 5 decades from the Jackson 5, to The Jacksons, to becoming the most popular artist on the planet and the King Of Pop! I recently bought this CD/DVD box set and I was overwhelmed. This is the best music collection from the 'Biggest Selling Artist of All Time' can't get much better than that! A lot of our younger generation have missed the chance to properly listen to and witness Michael's music and videos which is a shame, because I'm sure all people would marvel at his songs without the result from the negative media attention. One thing I really love is most of the songs on this collaboration are No.1 hit singles (from the ballads to the groovy dance songs.) I'm only 14 and I love all the classic dance tracks from 'Beat It', 'The Way You Make Me Feel', 'Smooth Criminal', the disco flavoured 'Don't Stop Til You Get Enough' to my favourite song 'Billie Jean.' Some of the ballads included in the set are very touching from the his child hit 'Ben' to the emotional 'She's Out of My Life.' But it doesn't stop there, there's an extra 13 unreleased songs and demos that fans will love, other classic tracks, rarities and even a live concert DVD from the Dangerous Tour. The set comes with a 64 page booklet of song/artist information with a timeline of rare photos from the Jackson archive. I must say that the concert is AMAZING!! I am a loyal Jackson fan and even I was gasping at his dance moves!! Anyway I recommend this box set for all music lovers alike because it has something for everyone. This man truly captivates the true art of music and in all it's integrity!
