This music stands on its own...but it means more if you have seen the series. Band of Brothers Suite One & Two brings joy; The Mission Begins stirs the soul; Discovery of the Camp will haunt you; Nixon's Walk relays Lewis Nixon's mood; you can feel the grief and exhaustion of the men while sitting in the church listening to the tiny choir sing Plaisir D'Amour. This is the best CD I have listened to in quite some time. One thing though...I found that this music tends to want me to lean back my head and close my eyes to take in the whole of it...quite distracting while driving I must say! :-)

The title score is one of the best I have heard recently, and it is played in several styles and formats for different scenes in the TV mini-series. Naturally, one would appreciate the composer's effort and talent more if the TV mini-series were seen too, and the music matches the mood of the scenes very nicely. My mom, who is a retired doctor now in her 80s, was a young medical intern in China during World War II and had seen and treated many wounded soldiers. Having seen the BOB mini-series and listened to the related musical scores, she thinks the title song is like a hymn from heaven.Free Music Review: a gracious respect to those who served in the last Great War

A stunningly beautiful tribute by the London Metropolitan Orchestra. Includes most major songs that are played throuoght the equally stunning journeys of the soldiers. A few of my favorites are : 'Band of Brothers Suite One' (possibly one of the greatest crescendos ever), 'Winters on Subway' with gentle harmony and main theme weaved together beautifully, 'Bastogne Headscarf' with a soft and slow melody and finally 'Points: Band of brothers Requiem' (includes voices of a chorus humming along with the main theme. a very relaxing and pleasant CD, great to listen to while working.Free Music Review: Moving, powerful and understated score to a great series

The late Michael Kamen wrote a perfect score for the Band of Brothers miniseries. A kind of sequal to Saving Private Ryan, filmed in the same style and manner, Kamen could have gone all out with a loud patriotic main theme, instead he went softer and was able to create a poignant and moving score that is just as patriotic but highlights the sacrifices of those men who fought to free Europe from the Nazi fist. Overall, I believe that this is almost a perfect finale for the recently deceased Michael Kamen. A posthumus salute to an underrated composer.Free Music Review: Inspirational!!

Recently, I could hear music from another room and had to come out to see what my husband was watching on TV. It was BAND OF BROTHERS, a profound portrayal of war and its effect on the soldiers. I just had to have the soundtrack! Every selection on the CD is beautiful and moving, with certain ones that wring my heart! I love to purchase quality movie soundtracks that I can listen to while working on my computer, grading test papers, reading, walking, or even doing housework, and BAND OF BROTHERS is a welcomed addition to my collection.
