Free Music Notes for Motown

Free Music Review: Hauntingly Beautiful!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

from songwriter....I got it as a gift for my birthday! I have always loved Mike cause of that voice! he sounds like a male version of Anita Baker who is the "queen of cool"...and growing up with Motown who like he said provided some of the great moments in my life (good and bad) I was blown away by the covers of these classics!...Anybody who can do ANY Stevie tune gets props in my book! He put a great spin on .."when i fall in love"...and the cover of Marvin's Distant Lover gives me chills!..also Reflections was very nice without those anoying effects that Luther put in them,,,,as a songwriter, I loved the music as a vocalist I say 5 stars and then some!!...

Free Music Review: An Album To Be Proud Of
Hit: 5 Stars

Michael Mcdonald's Motown is truly sensational. It brings Michael's voice to such soul, live, and love. Each song is a representation in its own and truly pleasureable to the ear and soul. I love the way his vocal works and very few male performers have that singing quality in them. I love the single "Ain't No Mountain High Enough!" Everytime I hear this song it just makes me happy and alive. I think it is a very inspiring song. This album is a great powerhouse collection of what Michael Mcdonald is all about. He is a true artist and this album will transform love and happiness into everyone's life. It is a classic that will last through times to come!!!

Free Music Review: I LOVE IT
Hit: 5 Stars

Like a lot of people I first heard two of these songs on that cell phone commercial...and I just loved it! Then I heard he was touring and I had to see him. Well I saw him a few weeks ago at the Apollo Theater in Harlem..IT WAS THE BEST SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN!! Did almost all the songs on the Motwon CD and his Doobie Brothers and solos hits, he was on stge about 2.5 hours and did three encours..the last song was White Christmas. When he sang "You are Everything" I had the chills run right through my body...you must see him live. As for the cd....I haven't taken it out of my cd player since the show>>> I'll be catching him in AC in March for sure.

Free Music Review: Michael singing Marvin??????
Hit: 5 Stars

OK...I must admit I ONLY bought this CD so I could "bash"Michael McDonald for "attempting" to carry off Marvin Gayes' "I want you" and "distant lover". Singing Motown is one thing but singing the late great Marvin Gaye is Quite another!!..BOY was I WRONG!!! Not only does Michael sings "I want you", but he does a DAMN good job or remaking my fav Marvin Gaye song. His version of "distant Lover " is also awesome. I have played this CD over and over and over again and I just cant get enough. Please buy it ..you will NOT regret. ONLY one question......I can't understand why Michael McDonald did not make PEOPLE magazines Sexiest people...He is HOT HOT HOT!!

Free Music Review: An Excellent Comeback from Michael McDonald
Hit: 5 Stars

After three mediocore albums in the 1990s. Michael McDonald chose to go back to his roots. Having been a long time admire of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye as well as other artists he seems to top the originals.
Despite the fact that following the release of this album he had been ridiculed on TV (Family Guy), moviesThe 40-Year-Old Virgin (Unrated Full Screen Edition) and the popular Internet series Yacht Rock he doesn't seem to mind at all and that's why he did a second one. Don't let the cover fool you, there is an earlier American pressing.
