Free Music Notes for MotownFree Music Review: This album is long overdue! Hit: 5 Stars
As a fan of McDonald since his Doobie Bro days as well as solo career, I've heard it all--the '80's keyboard stuff, the Christmas Album and most importantly, his live concerts. Heard him sing "When a Man Loves a Woman," which needed to be on this album... Anyway, this stuff is great. Its a boomer thing, you wouldn't understand.... There is still a place in pop music for this soulfull voice and this album provides the perfect vehicle for that voice. Sure, the voice shows some age, but I would hope I could sing like this when all my hair turns white, too!! This music is for mature audiences (in the truest sense of the word) only.
Free Music Review: UNBELIEVABLE! Hit: 5 Stars
OH MY GOD! What can I say? I have always loved Michael McDonald: when he was with the Doobies and when he went solo. I didn't know about this CD until I heard a cut from a TV commercial. I immediately went out and bought it and it's been playing on my CD over and over ever since. He's given a lot of style to all the old songs I grew up on and included some I had forgotten. This CD has songs that expresses a range of emotions regarding love, the highs, the lows, everything! The classic Motown will always be that, but this will also be a classic in my mind! I'm sending this CD to my fiance' in Egypt and I know he's gonna love it.
Free Music Review: Simply Great! Hit: 5 Stars
Fans of Motown, The Doobie Brothers, and of course, Michael McDonald will love, "Motown". All of the tracks are recognizable Motown hits, yet each are done in a style that is McDonald's alone. His smooth, bluesy voice is in fine form on such memorable cuts such as "I Believe" (When I Fall in Love it Will be Forever), "I Heard it Through the Grapevine", and "Reflections". He even gives Stevie Wonder a run for his money with "Signed, Sealed, Delivered".You won't be disappointed with "Motown"! This is a CD that you'll play over and over whether it be on the beach, in the car, or just kicking back on the sofa! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Free Music Review: How Sweet It Is Hit: 5 Stars
I know I've reviewed this CD before but by golly I had to submit a follow up. I have not been able to put this CD away. I have been listening to it everyday since I've recieved it from Amazon.com. I am not one of those people who is stuck on mowtown music. I love all kinds of music and I love Michael McDonald's voice but what he did to these hits of yesteryear is simply amazing. It's a good thing I saw that phone commercial with him singing or I might not have known about this CD. What a loss that would have been. People go out and get this CD....better yet stay in and order it online from Amazon.com. You will not be sorry.

On "Motown", Michael McDonald pays tribute to these great songs with updated, yet true to the original arrangements and vocals.
