Free Music Notes for In the Midst of BeautyFree Music Review: Schenker still the master melodic shredder Hit: 5 Stars
It's great to see Michael and Gary join forces. I wasn't to sure at first, but again they work together well. Every song catches your attention from the get go, Bardens voice is subtle, and Michaels guitarwork is sweet, stunning and masterful.
Free Music Review: Michael Schenker shreds again Hit: 5 Stars
Michael Schenker has returned with good catchy songs... extremely impressive guitar solo's and a familiar vocalist, Gary Barden. I recommend buying this CD today! You won't regret it! This is a good rock and roll album.

Free Music Review: New Michael Schenker Hit: 5 Stars
Outstanding collection of rock. The first 4 tracks are worth the investment alone. A must-have CD whether you're a Schenker fan or just a rocker.
Free Music Review: You can hear the bones creaking... Hit: 4 Stars
Okay, first let me tell you all I am a true HUGE Schenker fan. I own virtually everything he has released (minus the compilations) and love everything except Arachnophobiac (I mean, Jeff Watson doing the solos on several songs...what the 'f'?)If you're looking for the sound and energy of the 1980-1983 period, it ain't there. For sure. This is 25 years since "Built To Destroy" and it shows. Barden sings in a really low register, and you don't get a taste of the old voice until track 5. Schenker's playing shows no signs of lightning striking until track 8, where he has a good long shredding solo. Airey, Murray, and Phillips, are, at best, a good rhythm section for Michael, at this point. Playing with musicians many years his junior for the past 10-15 years, until the "Jam" records kept Michael challenged. No one is out to recreate their youthful energy here, And little attempt is made to prove otherwise. That said, the album is as described by the reviewer above - a good rock-pop CD. Doubtless, this CD will be a big success for Michael, because of the line-up, and there's no reason to doubt the songs are all good. I love you, Michael, and thanks for bringing us some good new material. But for all of us who bought the 1980-1983 period records when they were new, this isn't the good ole' summertime blasting in your car type of music. Michael has had a good time in recent years playing with his old friends, and this is yet another example of this. Now, all Schenker fans, go buy it! Well, find it first. You may have to get it on Amazon, 'cause all the local stores around me go "who?" and even Best Buy told me it isn't on their short list to order it. Of course, I'm on Long Island, and the only truly rockin' store just closed forever. Kudos and R.I.P. to Slipped Disc.
