Free Music Review: Music grew on me... Now I love it!

I didn't anticipate too much from Michael's latest CD. His style has been changing slightly in his latest releases, including Worship and Worship Again, and I felt like I had been moving on to new artists.
I decided to purchase this CD, mostly in order to get super shipping on my order. On the first time through, there were a few songs that pleasantly surprised me, and a handful that I wasn't excited about. As I have listened to the CD more, each of these songs has grown on me. There is not a song on the CD that I do not enjoy now. I am very glad that I made this purchase.
If you do not like this CD on the first pass, do not put it down. Give it a little more time. You may find that you like it after all.

Michael W Smith is a consumate crafter of music. Each of his melodies on this CD catch your ear and stick. As importantly, he is a composer who has continued to expand his knowledge and skill at writing music. He has composed symphonies, pop music, rock music, and close to everything in between. This disc, perhaps better than any of his prior ones, displays his enormous talent. Some artists sound the same disc after disc because they don't grow. Michael W Smith is not one of them. I have not really been a Michael W. Smith fan for all that long- long enough to add 10 of his cds to my collection though, and I definitely feel that this (besides the worship cds) is his all time BEST ever work! I FEEL the message behind the lyrics, and it speaks to my soul- Buy it- you'll love it, and listen to it over and over and over. I purchased one and then have bought 4 more to give as random gifts. I'm planning on sending more to all my loved ones for Christmas- it truly is a gift that will keep on giving!

I have to tell you: my first listen to this CD disappointed me a little. The opening track "Cover Me" pulled me right in, but the overall album was slower in pace than I was hoping for. But after a couple of listens, I was sold. Now its a regualr fixture on my CD. So don't dismiss the CD if your first listen disappoints. Give it time. There are many excellent tracks. At the moment I have to say that his cover of "Lord, You're Beautiful" is blowing me away. The title trakc is also outstanding.

I went to see Michael W. Smith in concert after having bought a couple of his CD's. He is phenomenal! The group of us that went to the concert loved it! I loved his last Christmas CD but I believe "Stand" is his best CD yet! And guess what??? He has another Christmas CD coming out this fall. YES! I love to exercise to Stand. It just gets me motivated and full of joy. The workout is easy and so relaxing when you are listening to something so wonderful.
