Free Music Notes for StandFree Music Review: Kind of boring!!! (Strictly a Musician`s Point of View) Hit: 3 Stars
Michael W. Smith`s music is famous for his smart, catchy and creative musical ideas. Now that`s gone. You listen the first song, then you`ve listened it all. Very similar harmonies!. I think "loose" is the best word to describe it.
Now, i rated it 3 stars because it is an album for reflection (and 2 stars looks like junk, which is not!). So, if you want to have fun, probably you will be dissapointed (or asleep). But if you want it to have a worship moment, this record will work fine. Sincerely, i hoped this cd would be far better than Healing Rain, but you find more musical surprises in HR than Stand.
I would love to tell what are the best songs, but, i barely can difference one song of each other!!!

Free Music Review: Still good, Smitty Hit: 3 Stars
I'm not really too keen on all the songs on this album, but it seems a good reflection of Michael W. Smith's maturity. After 20+ years as a recording artist, he has earned the right to offer up an album where he can have a crack at worship.
Track 4, however, is a real Smitty jem. How To Say Goodbye, inspired by taking his daughter to college, is excellent. Lyrics, voice and music combined into a classic Michael W. Smith masterpiece.
Free Music Review: Short and sweet Hit: 3 Stars
A solid release from Smitty. Doesn't come close to the power and diversity of 'Healing Rain', but I don't think that's what he wanted to accomplish with 'Stand'. It has to be one of his shortest in terms of total time. It clocks in at under 45 minutes on my CD player! Songs that particularly stand out for me are the title track, 'Open Arms' and 'You be Lifted High'.
Free Music Review: good but not great Hit: 3 Stars
It does not hold a candle to the WORSHIP album. That album has the power of the Holy Spirit upon it.
Free Music Review: Smitty Lays an Egg Hit: 2 Stars
Big MWS fan here since 1990. This is the one blemish on a career I'd call nothing but remarkable and well deserved. There is just nothing here that is accessible and moves the listener. I have tried but do not share the sentiments of others regarding this release. Reviews seem largely mixed here. Starts bland and stays there the whole way through. Michael is a great talent that I have enjoyed immensely through the years but STAND mainly "SITS" idly in my cd cabinet. I'll revisit it every once in a while but it just simply fails to make it all the way through. Come on Smitty, we need a comeback on the next effort.
