I am a huge Smitty fan. I've gone to several of his concerts and have most of his CD's. Stand was very disappointing. I think it was due to the fact that MWS didn't write all the songs. I have not been so disappointed in a new release in a very long time. I read the liner notes and lyrics before I played the CD and thought that the music should be pretty phenomenal since the lyrics were not all that exciting. Well, the music, instrumentation and composition are as one dimensional as the lyrics. I could not wait to get this out of my player and put something in of substance. Go out and buy Hillsong United's "United We Stand" for a much more passionate, powerful, and FAR better arranged version of "The Stand". After one listen to the original, it will quickly become evident that Smith should not have gone anywhere near this song, no matter how hard he wishes to appear as relevant.
