That was me just vomiting after listening to this CD. And this review was much more condemning before this latest rewrite. Mostly because Mr. Avalon DIDN'T break through as I expected he would and become the next big thing. Maybe I'm musically naive, and maybe I'm missing something about why and how bad "Mickey Avalon" actually sucks. But this album was sick and dangerous in a good way. How many legitimate non-parodying and non-parodied gay rappers have you heard of? Zero maybe, until Mickey Avalon's exploited questionable sexual identity and activity came along. And as gross and retarded as he is, severe retardation seems to go hand in hand in the music biz, especially gangster and ex prostitute rap... he has a sharp edge and completely new and different angle. And I LIKED the album. I guess some people are going to diss it because it's so shamelessly catchy. Personally I could be more dismissive of it because it's a gimmick. And presuming he really was a prostitute, I'm sure there's a lot more emotion and depth of soul that he's not tapping into, or afraid to tap into and share musically or artistically. I thought for sure such incendiary critiquing would give him a shot, and not of heroine in his rectum, which might be a lyric you're likely to hear on his next album assuming he's working on one, which he should, cause he gots skillz.
