We enjoy Diana Krall and someone recommended this CD because she sings on it. I was pleasantly surprised by the other contemporary artists singing these beautiful ballads by Johnny Mercer--k.d.lang, Allison Kraus, etc. I've enjoyed it so much that I've bought copies for others as gifts. This CD has a mixture of slow and fast pieces (more slow ones) with a mix of male and female singer and instrumentals as well. Many long forgotten pieces were revived in a new way like Laura, Autum Leaves, The time the dreams on me, the days of wine and roses. I really didn't notice the music when I watched the movie, but someone gave me the CD and I love it. Clint Eastwood shouldn't quit his day job, but even he wasn't too bad and Johnny Mercer's music isn't too demanding in this instance, so it was pleasant.
