Free Music Notes for Life in Cartoon MotionFree Music Review: What do you call this music??!?!? Hit: 5 Stars
This CD has left me scratching my head. First off, its really good, but the bigger issue is, how do you categorize it? Anyone who's heard it in my car asks "Is this Queen?" Yes, Mika sounds incredibly like Freddie Mercury (the flambouyancy and the incredible falsetto) but he also sounds equal parts the Scissor Sisters, Robbie Williams, KT Tunstall, George Michael and an early Elton John.
This album is equal parts kitschy pop, haunting balads, catchy dance hooks and just pure 100% fun music. Stand out tracks include Relax (Take It Easy), Ring Ring, Big Girl, Erase and ofcoure the brilliant Grace Kelly.
Free Music Review: Super talented Mika rocks the house! Hit: 5 Stars
This album is a WOW! Every song is great! Music with creative lyrics is a rarity...Mika is therefore a priceless gem. His talent transcends cultures & musical styles. His amazing vocal range is showcased in many songs, yes he is described as a reincarnation of Freddie Mercury;however, I feel Mika is in fact more creative. The music feeds your mind as well as your soul, even tunes like Lollipop many seem superfrivilous at first, until you listen to the lyrics. Mika blew me away from the first time I heard Relax while in Paris. The French love him, the Germans love him, and this American loves him. You won't be dissapointed with this one.
Free Music Review: Very diverse and talented young artist! Hit: 5 Stars
When I first heard "Grace Kelly," my first thought was that whoever it was sounded so much like Freddie Mercury. I listened to a few of Mika's songs on his website and just had to get his CD. After listening to all of his songs, I've come to the conclusion that his voice is similar, but not exactly the same. It still has Freddie's theatrics and range, but there's also something that's just uniquely 'Mika' about it!
The songs on the CD are all so varied. They range from pop-ish to disco and everything in between. His subjects are also just as varied. Once I start listening to this CD, I can't stop!
Free Music Review: Unbelievable Hit: 5 Stars
This is the first CD that has MADE me like every last one of its songs during the first listen. Typically I have to get used to all of the other songs, besides the favorite that I purchased the CD for. These songs are all so catchy and fun and Mika is an absolutely adorable person! The message that he puts across in some of his songs is admirable as well.
His talent is evident and his originality and creativity is a much needed breath of fresh air. I'm taking a deep breath right now, and I love it.
My only worry? I just might get sick of these songs because I listen to them so often!
Free Music Review: Five BIG Stars for MIKA~~!! Hit: 5 Stars
I fell in love with Mika instantly when I first saw his music in Asia. Its about time we hear something fun and original. I don't understand what's all the fuss about not knowing where to catagorize his songs in the US. We have too much pre-concieve notion about how music in the "commercial" market should sound like....That is why a lot of talented artist don't get to be heard...cuz they don't "fit" in anywhere...how ridiculous....and who cares anyways?? Look how well Mika is doing in the rest of the world!! This album is definately something worth recommanding to everyone. Miks is the BEST!
