I'm 54 years old and was there when Tubular Bells hit the record rack. It was truly awesome for it's time and was an incredible psychedelic experience...believe me. Ommadawn and Incantations were were worn out around the tribal campfire here in Oregon I assure you. As I've aged I've come to think of "Fives Miles Out" and "Songs of the Distant Earth" his best works since. I've sampled his stuff since and gave this CD a try because of the reviews here. I really wish Mike could put Tubular Bells to bed for the last time...and get on with something truly new. Sorry I just cannot recommend this work unless you want to listen to the ghostly and reworked echos of past.
