Free Music Notes for Tres Lunas (Bonus CD)

Free Music Review: I have the one with bonus tracks...
Hit: 5 Stars

It does not appear to be available through amazon.com, though.
The disc was won on eBay and is made in Germany. After the 'To Be Free' radio edit there is an additional 7 tracks: 15. In the Beginning; 16. Let There be Light; 17. Supernova; 18. Magellan; 19. First Landing; 20. Oceania; and 21. Tubular World. These last several tracks are mixed together and make up what is one gorgeous piece of music! Mike Oldfield at his absolute best! The only complaint I have is that this bonus material causes the disc to run just over 80-minutes. Audio cd's can't handle more than 80-minutes so during the last track my cd player goes crazy and cuts the piece short. The recording company needs to see that these selections go on a separate disc so they may be listened to in their entirety. All in all this is a great cd and 'To Be Free', with his sister Sally handling the vocals, is an outstanding track. Unreservedly recommended.

Free Music Review: Genius of Modern Music
Hit: 5 Stars

What a marvellous masterpiece !!! As ever, Mike is modern beyond fashion, it is no chill out music: IS MIKE OLDFIELD MUSIC.
Like a comparison , sounds like "The song from distant earth " , very cool, very sensitive, i think that this music only is possible in the mind of a master. Mike Oldfield is a classic musician, ever with the most high quality and "Tres Lunas" is one of the better works of all your career, maybe one of the five tops.
Mike shines like a crazy diamond, far above the clouds. A must.

Free Music Review: It's a surprise if you're a real mike fan
Hit: 5 Stars

Forget what you think this album could do to extend so-called "mike style". Forget what you expect on the never-ending Tubular stories. Does that "Chill-Out" on the cover frighten you?
Don't think, just listen. You'll agree it's a great piece of music that worth salute to.
I've been a mike fan for over 20 years and I can't imagine any other artist could do the same thing mike's doing. After all these years, he's still a pioneer.

Free Music Review: Extremely Pleasant Chillout Album
Hit: 5 Stars

I really like this album. Although I think that Mike Oldfield's 'The Songs of Distant Earth' album is more of a spiritual, 'new-age' album (which I also really loved - one of my top-5 albums ever!), 'Tres Lunas' is more of a chillout album, less 'serious' in spiritual meaning... But it's still really wonderful. My favourite tracks are 'Return to the Origin' and 'To Be Free'.

If you liked 'The Songs of Distant Earth', you'll like 'Tres Lunas' as well!

Free Music Review: Mike's new treasure
Hit: 5 Stars

I own every Oldfield album, saw him play in NYC in the early 90's. This album is unique from his recent releases. it's more laid back and relaxed, yet still has an underlying energy to it. There's not a single weak song on the CD.
To Be Free is an incredible uplifting song that I play over and over. Overall, a great CD to own, even if you're not a MO fan.
