Ignore for a moment the industry buzz surrounding his debut cd on the now famous Hidden Beach label. I, too have both Jill Scott cd's and Unwrapped. I was indeed blown out the water by all three projects. This takes it to the next level. He is in a class by himself. I am in awe of his incredibly raw talent. There are not words to adequately describe what a phenomenon this cd is. The game just got kicked up. The new kids on the block will inevitably be compared to Mr. Phillips. It's hard for me to pick favorites but I'll try. "Will You Stick With Me?", "Love Is a Drug," "Tonite" and the standout to me is "Beatin' On It." All I could do is just shake my head in complete amazement. Do whatever you have to do to get in touch with Mike Phillips. This is a materpiece cd. You will enjoy song after song of great depth, and energy, from a talented new artist that will surely make a positive impact in the music industry. Light some candles, and be prepared to be mesmerized by the smooth sounds, that will truly soothe your soul. I'm happy to say that the band he used to play with, Parker Music - The Brothers 2 + 2 Band, will perform at my wedding next year! Once we saw the demo tape with Mike Phillips performing, we were sold even before the tape was complete! I would love nothing more than to have him make a guest appearance! They are all fantastic! They even did a song with him on this cd, "Will You Stick With Me". A MUST HAVE FOR YOUR MUSIC COLLECTION!!!Free Music Review: Wow!!!!

The new Mike Phillips cd is incredible..I first heard about Mike after I heard him play with Jill Scott and I couldnt wait for his record to drop..After I heard him on the Jill Scott Live album I knew this was a must have cd..My favorite tunes are "Stop What Ya Doin", "Will You Stick With Me" and "Wonderful and Special"..I think this will be the Jazz cd that people are going to talk about..The people at Hidden Beach just keep doing it..First Jill and then Unwrapped and now Mike Phillips..Hidden Beach please keep bringing the HEAT!!!!Free Music Review: Beatin'..... or hatin' on it.

Now,now,now are all my fellow artists/music "knowitalls" lashing their dreams deferred out on Mr. Mike Phillips? Maybe. I found this brothers "FIRST ALBUM" to be quite good. I agree that it is the kind of cd that you can ride to or sit on the deck, relax and chill.I as well as many of my friends have made many great memories with this album. I only hope the brand new joint brings many more!To all the hatin' saxophonists.....I only hope we can review your cd IF and WHEN you get signed and cut one!!!!Free Music Review: Great CD

I love this CD!!!. I am a while behind in buying this, but I had heard it a number of times before. i love the energy of the CD. Jazz inmy opinion was built upon different styles merging into a genre. This cd does this for me, it is a great cd for those spring afternoons on the Jersey Turnpike or Rte 13 headed to Virginia Beach. Its a great cd for sitting on the deck drinking wine with friends and playing spades. This is a great addition to anyones library.
