This cd is one of the best flowing jazz cd's I have ever heard! This is one cd besides the "jazzmasters" collection that you can listen to from start to finish. I think the best song on here is "when it comes to lovin' me", track 14. Also another favorite (they're all "favorites") track 9, "stop what ya doin'" is a song that will get you moving on the floor as well. One of the best instrumental albums I have heard in years. Mike Phillips takes the genre to a whole new level. There is something for everyone on this record. Traditional smooth jazz folks will like Something About Maria, while younger hip hop heads will have their heads nodding to "Stop Whatcha Doing". R&B fans will be blasting "Wonderful and Special" in their cars on repeat! Finally...a young, hip musician has come along to remind me of what I first liked about instrumental artists. Mike Phillips plays with passion, drive and an urgency that separates him from the bunch. I really dig "Just One Take," "A True Story" and "Huron Ave," but the laid back side of my loves "Baby Calls" and the part of me that needs to do some serious head-nodding can't get enough of "Tonite." my name is nick, i play tenor sax, and my high school marching band went to orlando to the Champs Sports Bowl and we played in the halftime show and mike phillips played with us and we met him and i almost got him to sign my sax but i got sick. but man mike phillips is the coolest jazz artist to come around in a while. he can play a melody that'll be stuck in your head, but he can also rip it up with some crazy freestyle.Free Music Review: Outstanding!

I have seen this incredibly talented and entertaining artist perform many times and attended listening parties for the album before it was released. This music is truly special. The album is really a statement of the future of the music industry. I bought one for my parents, I bought one for my assistant at the office, I bought one for my girlfriend, and I just ordered the import version with the bonus track for myself.
