The music and production on this joint is very impressive. Mike has a good sound and is not overshadowed by the likes of Waymon Tisdale whose basslines accentuates several tracks. Mike's alto sax reminds me of J.Spencer, George Howard and G. Albright - verycrisp and distinctive. I hope he sticks to the funk on his next venture. This is a must have for the smooth jazz enthusiast.

How else can I put it??? Mike Phillips' funky, driven, and stylish approach to jazz has made my investment in his CD all the more appreciated. He exhibits a raw talent in his playing, only seen in great musicians such as Wayman Tisdale, Grover Washington, Jr., Bird, and others.
