Free Music Notes for Round About Midnight

Free Music Review: Masterpiece
Hit: 5 Stars

It simply doesn't get any better. Miles' muted trumpet sound along with Coltrane's first amazing solos combine for a one of a kind album..the first with Columbia which marks a start of a great Davis-Coltrane decade. This is the same group that would form Kind of Blue along with Evans and Adderley. I definately recommend it for those who wan't to hear Miles' first steps in the world of modal jazz

Free Music Review: My Favorite Miles....
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm quite the jazz fan, and a Miles fan in particular. I'd be embarassed to admit how many discs and boxes I own by Miles, but this the disc I put on most often. That band, that tone...and Miles had a way with a standard like no one else! While "Kind Of Blue" gets a lot of attention as the essential Miles, please don't overlook this one!

Free Music Review: Pack My Bags I'm On My Way
Hit: 5 Stars

Along with STEAMIN' and KIND OF BLUE, 'ROUND ABOUT MIDNIGHT makes the argument that Miles Davis was the most influential Jazz men of the 20th century.

Highlights include the title track, a raucus "Ah-Leu-Cha," and my favorite, "Bye Bye Blackbird." Truly Miles at his emotional best.

Free Music Review: Jazz at it's best
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a great cd to relax to throughout, it's the kind of disc that you would'nt play all the time but when you play it you realise that it's one of the best you own, smooth jazz the way it should be. The music really does get to you aswell which defines quality music.

Free Music Review: Worth it just for Trane's 1st solo * * * * * *
Hit: 5 Stars

It is a "transplendid" moment when John Coltrane blazes in on the opening title track "'Round Midnight."
It is so fresh, startling and heartbreaking - it's like he's squeezing out a teardrop from the instrument.
Guaranteed shivers.
