Free Music Review: "I sleep but I don't rest..."
Hit: 5 Stars

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend by Miranda Lambert is straight to the point, gutsy, and she makes no apolgies for being a beer-gulzing, rifle-packing broad! I loved her debut album, Kerosene but this one is competely different and special. She chants "I was mad as hell..." on the title track and plays with her girly side on Famous In a Small Town, "wear your yellow shades and I'll put on my tight jeans..." Her voice and songwriting abilities are stronger than ever, even on the three tracks she didn't write, Miranda sounds fabulous. Check out Dry Town, Getting Ready, and Easy From Now On and see how great she sounds on other people's songs. Tracks I cannot get enough are the guilt-free, Gunpowder & Lead, the senisitve Love Letters, the soulful, Desperation, and the beautiful, More Like Her. Miranda is the only country artist I listen to, no else compares to her. With that in mind, I highly recommend checking this album out. Have Fun!

Free Music Review: Great CD
Hit: 5 Stars

I don't buy too many cd's anymore. With Ol' Waylon and Johnny Cash gone, there is nothing much out there on the Country radio waves that pleases my ears. I like something different. When I saw Miranda Lambert singing "Kerosene" on the Country Music Awards a couple of years ago, I said "Who is that?" That is sure different. I bought that cd & was very impressed. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is just as good if not better. I'm not saying that Miranda Lambert will be other Waylon or Johnny Cash, but you could say she takes one step over the line. Singing and writing songs like "Kerosene", "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" and "Gunpowder & Lead" reminds me a little of Johnny Cash's "Delia's Gone". CMT wouldn't air that video because of the contents. Shame on them! Johnny got them back. Emmy's right & left! That's another thing that I like about Miranda, she writes most of her own songs. Buy the album, you won't be sorry.

Free Music Review: I'm convinced that
Hit: 5 Stars

she's one of the greatest talents this country has ever produced. I don't like most of what Nashville, and Sony especially, is presently putting out. Pop country is trite, immature, and targeted at rather low intellects. I buy a lot of country music, 90% indie, but Miranda Lambert is special. Her introductory album was a top 3 best release in the country all year (rivaled only by The Wreckers and The Meat Purveyors) and so far this year she has no equal. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend offers the same, if not better, maturity of writing, versatility, excellence and independence in style and total performance as her first album. She is by far the greatest female country solo artist presently, and perhaps in our nation's history. This album has no rejects, all keepers, and of my more than 600 country albums collected over 50 years, top 10. Stop reading the rants of this old fart and buy the damn album.

Free Music Review: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Continues Where Kerosene Left Off
Hit: 5 Stars

I don't recall an album that so closely mirrors its predecessor and continues to highlight the outstanding talent of its musician. I liked every single track, from the already popular ones: Gunpowder & Lead, Dry Town, Famous in a Small Town, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, to the not-yet as well-known ones. My personal favorite is: "More Like Her". I don't know why; I just really like this track. Miranda Lambert really is "beautiful in her simple little way." Please, Miranda, don't make us wait so long until your next album! But then, maybe it was the wait that made this second album so great!!! Nah, it's the great music and lyrics coming from your heart and soul.

Free Music Review: Great sophomore album!
Hit: 5 Stars

This was an album that I had on my wish list, but was holding off on buying. I finally broke down and let me tell you - I am so impressed with this sophomore album. Miranda takes country back to what country used to be. Although I am a fan of the more modern form of country, I love this album! The songs are catchy and really well written. The words jump out at you and not only do you enjoy it, you can laugh at how crazy it all seems, yet realistic because these things happen. The first three tracks are the perfect introduction to a fabulous album. If you like country and if you liked her first album, you will really enjoy this cd!
