Free Music Review: An incredible and solid debut recording

"Liken A Razor", the album's opening cut, is an incredible rock opening. With vocals that are smooth and entrancing, Pascal puts that vocal octane into his music that very few musicians can still accomplish. The lyrics of this opener flow with a fluidity that is, to be blunt, beautiful.

The album's titled song, "Model Prisoner", is so enjoyable since it mixes such an array of musical categories; think blues mixed with hard rock and country. Not only is the song's lyric of a man being with a woman despite hating it intriguing, the way the song is orchestrated is by far the most powerfully noticeable.

Such as the title song, the album itself mixes and mashes so many genres that it makes each song stand out on its own -- without the need of any support. The powerful display of Mr. Pascal's influences -- ranging from Elton John to Billy Joel to hardcore 80's rock -- is apparent and admirable.

Overall, Adam Pascal has displayed that the male vocalist category has been yet to fade only to poppy boy bands. With an incredible talent not only in his voice but in his lyrical performance as well, he proves that small, independent labels (such as Sh-K-Boom Records, the company that released "Model Prisoner) can output equivalent -- if not stronger -- musical talent that any other major company can withstand. This is truly an album not to be missed.
