Free Music Notes for No Guts...No GloryFree Music Review: WEAK--Danny Joe's return does NOT revive the old magic... Hit: 2 StarsI LOVE Molly Hatchet's first two albums with Danny Joe fronting--great southern rock. When he left the band after their second album, that was the end of the band, as far as I'm concerned. And his coming back in 1985 to produce this CD does not save the day, I'm sorry. These songs are just WEAK. The only good one is the epic "Fall of The Peacemakers." All the others range from mediocre to just plain bad. Not nearly as good as their two albums from the late 70's. I only recommend those and the Live Double Trouble CD.
Free Music Review: Classic Southern Boogie Hit: 5 StarsDid I read some clown in here say that this album was "wimpy"? What the hell album were you listening to? I was quite shocked at how good this album was. Even with DJB back, I did not think they would be able to recreate the magic of their first albums, but they do. This is good Ol' Southern Boogie!
Free Music Review: Hey, Mr DJ, play me some of that Southern Rock 'n' Roll Hit: 5 StarsChances are if you like Southern Rock and/or Molly Hatchet, you'll like this album; I've played it in it's entirely many many times in the car, it's a good one to listen to while driving. Everything works, there's no clinkers to want to skip over like some other bands have. But by 1983 the genre was dying out and for whatever reason Hatchet in general doesn't get a lot of respect. It should be noted that a version of Peacemakers is still played by the current band in their live shows.
Free Music Review: what a waste.... Hit: 1 StarsScope that album cover closely: recognize the second guy from the left? Yes, sadly, that's the ex-drummer for Mother's Finest. What an unmitigated waste of talent. Kind of like Ringo Starr playing with Def Leppard, huh?
Free Music Review: Molly Hatchet's Only Decent Album To Date!!!!! Hit: 5 StarsMy brother and I tried to listen to their other stuff and then came along this awesome record! We really loved this 9-track tape:) It has a great outlaw southern sound that the other albums fall short of....
We also wondered why that more of there music didn't sound great like this album. Who knows?! I guess the diehard fans got use to those out-of-tune rock noise Molly did in the past......I really recommend this for a buy!!!
