Monica is nothing short of amazing. I am in complete awe. This album is genius. Pure genius. After 15 solid years as R&B's self-assured soulstress from the trap, Miss Thang shows the world she is in a new place, both musically and professionally. Monica delivers an impeccable piece on her 6th release with "Still Standing." Although she has changed the tone of her lyrics and demonstrated some serious growth, Monica has always been consistent in her ability to create music her average listener could relate to. It is no wonder she is "still standing."
From the opening banger to the melodic finishings, Monica shows off her versatility and vocal seduction in all 10 tracks. She opens the album with an inspirational message to her listeners from her own mother.."Baby, you gotta walk by faith..and not by sight"..this is true indeed, especially in a saturated music industry she is forced to compete in, it must be by that very faith Monica has remained as strong and focused as ever, proving she's a worthy leading lady and fashions herself a true distinction amongst her fellow female R&B colleagues.
Monica is a pioneer of modern R&B. A woman who is unafraid to be herself, and makes no apologies for never molding herself into the "typical" r&b chick who must sell sex in order to sell a record. Instead, she imposes on the world a woman of strength, talent, and a true testimony. My personal favorites are Love All Over Me, Everything To Me, Stay or Go, and Believing in Me. GET THIS ALBUM!

WOW. This album is so good, I can barely put it in words. I have always been a Monica fan. Her music is always very deep and something the people can relate to. However on this album, she really opens up her heart and soul and puts all of her emotions out there. This is her best album yet and if you don't have it, hurry up and get it. Now, with her first single "Everything To Me", she is pretty much showing how she is in love with someone and how much she really loves them and what they mean to her. My favorite tracks are "Love All Over Me" and "Mirro". When I hear "Love All Over Me", I go in to my own world and think about the love that I have for that special someone in my life. With "Mirror", its a song that will lift you up. It makes you look at yourself differently in a more positive way. Learning to love who you are and the skin you are in without dressing it all up is what people have a hard time doing. These are the type of songs that plays in your head over and over again because they are that good and you will never get tired of them. Keep doing your thang Monica. You're on your grown woman now and I'm loving every bit of it. Like I said, if you don't have this album, go and get it.Free Music Review: LUV IT!!!

Man it's been a long time coming and it's finally here. The album sold out everywhere so I had to PURCHASE AND DOWNLOAD it from amazon, of course I'm still going to PURCHASE the CD. My favorites are Love all over me, Lesson Learned, All I know, Here I am, and Believing In Me. Still standing is a favorite as well but I had this song a year ago and have worn it out. I just bought the album and I have listen to it over 3 times. Is anyone else wondering why Infinity didn't make the cut. I have been searching for that song all day. I know I have to be Monica's #1 die hard fan in the world. I have lovvved her since the Miss Thang album. Thank you so much Monica for giving us some real R&B. Can't wait to go home and blast it on my surrond sound. Please don't let it be another 4 yrs before you put another album out, don't do us like that again! J records was sleeping on u this time, but I bet their awake know. Only putting 70,000 records out for sell, what kind of mess is that. I just hope that, that doesn't affect your sales. I watched the reality show and heard some of the songs played and knew I would have to get this cd as soon as it came out and I wasn't disappointed...well except I wish it was more songs on the cd. I bet she re-releases it with additional tracks. My favorite songs are "Here I Am", "Love All Over Me", "Everything to Me", and "Still Standing" in that order. I love every song except "Superman". I have been a Monica fan since the beginning and I believe this Cd is better than After the Storm. I think most fans agree that Makings of Me would be in last place. This girl could sing about 90% of these R&B chicks thats out now under a bridge. She is really showcasing her voice on these tracks. Content of certain songs could be better but she wanted to give her fans what they wanted, and that was her voice just singing. Here is my full ranking of the cd:

This is Monica's BEST ALBUM!
I know I'm late submitting a review but hey...better late than never. I listen to this album at least 3 times a day. "Stay or Go" "Believing in Me" & of course "Everything to Me" just add the cherry on top.
Monica can sing...hands down...she's the real thing & a lot of people can learn from her. She doesn't just make two songs that catch & make you want to buy the album then when you get it home it's a piece of crap; this is a classic in my book.
My only negative comment is I do wish there was more than 10 songs; at least 13...only because when I hear her sing on this album it's like drinking a sugary drink in 105 degree weather, you know for the moment it'll quench your thirst & settle you down but once the cup is empty & the sweat beads bubble back up you think "geez I hope there's more."
And the pitcher is empty...
Regardless I love it & I can't see this album getting old, annoying or losing it's spot on my Ipod any time soon...
