Free Music Notes for Best of the MonkeesFree Music Review: Great Band Hit: 5 Stars
This is a band who hit it big in the 60's,and had a Tv show as well. Here is a good collection of their songs.I got into this band in about 1985 when i heard a few of their songs being played.I said to myself now thats a good band, and i remembered their Tv show but it hadnt been shown on TV for a number of years. So i went and bought an album,it was a greatest hits album and i just kept playing it over and over.
Most of my friends were into the modern scene, but i kept plucking bands out like this, and when you listen to music like this band here the then mid eighties rock was poor in comparison.
(Theme From) The Monkees ,Last Train To Clarksville ,I Wanna Be Free,I'm A Believer,Stepping Stone,Look Out(Here Comes Tomorrow),Pleasent Valley Sunday,Daydream Believer, and there is a stack of other songs here.

All I can say is this was an impulse buy. I've been trying to find that great Monkees compilation with "Pleasant Valley Sunday", "Goin' Down", and "What am I doin hanging 'round". I found it. Great stuff. Also, for those people who slam the monkees, maybe you should listen to what a great track "Words" is, Or "For Pete's Sake". These are just great tunes.Buy it and enjoy it. Thanks!
Free Music Review: Excellent one-stop Monkees collection Hit: 5 Stars
Sure there are way too many Monkees' anthologies out there, but this one is now the best single-CD one available : 25 tracks including many fave LP tracks, excellent remastered sound, and, for whatever reason, a five-track "karaoke" bonus CD. If you're one of the 6 or 7 people who doesn't yet own a Monkees CD, this is a great package. If you're a collector, you might want to pass, but it sure is hard to resist.
Free Music Review: Nice Collection... Hit: 5 Stars
This so-called "prefab" band had tons of hits that stand the test of time. And no wonder: they had the likes of Harry Nilsson, Carole King, Neil Diamond, and the "invisible" Monkees Boyce and Hart writing the songs. ... Songs covered by Smash Mouth, The Sex Pistols, and U2., to name a few. And corrupted the minds of youth by having Jimi open for them before Monterey happened. ... The CD is a great collection.
Free Music Review: Definitely the best Monkees complilation I have found! Hit: 5 Stars
It's the best compilation cd of The Monkess I have found. Has all their well know hits (which is why I bought it) along w/ songs that were not hits as all best of/greatest hits albums seem to do for some reason for filler. I simply forward through those one's. All the really good songs are on this compilation so I highly recommend it. The karaoke cd is pointless for the majority of people who will buy this.
