Free Music Review: So it's not the 60's WHO CARES
Hit: 5 Stars

Everyone that says "It doesn't sound like Headquarters" is missing the point. Did you really expect Nez to do the time machine thing? Not too damn likely. What you have here is 4 grown men who have all gone their separate ways writing what is important to them in the 90's. Admiral Mike gets a lot of negative remarks. The issue was very important to Nez and he makes his point. It's a better song on the shallowness of journalism than Henleys Dirty Laundry. Mickeys songs are a highlight. Most of them are about relationships and let's face it even Mickeys take on a relationship is different than it was 35 years ago. Regional Girl is a great song and would have made a great single. Why Rhino chose to ignore it and promote NONE of the songs as singles is a mystery to me. The big question is why did Rhino leave all the promotion for this album to the fans (i.e. the great Rhino Justus fan promotion contest) instead of doing the work themselves? I heven't seen anyone mention Nez's guitar but it absolutely Rocks! Right after the album came out I sent a note to Nez asking about musician credits, figuring Peter must have played some guitar. His response Nez - Guitar, Peter - Bass, Mick - Drums, Davy - Percussion. So apparently Nez is the one rocking out. The biggest surprise to me is David's "It's not too late". Not a huge fan of Jones ballads I was blown away by this song. The harmonies from Nez and Mickey are outstanding. Another great track that deserves to be heard. This isn't the 60's, but this is a great album, I'm sorry the reunion crashed before I got to see the four live, but I got a lot more than I thought I would ever see. So buy this because it's JUSTUS and don't go looking for Headquarters II.

Free Music Review: The Monkees are back and better than ever!
Hit: 5 Stars

Undoubtedly, The Monkees' latest album, "JUSTUS", is a truly
wonderful effort on the part of all 4 members of this group. Every song is a stand-out. It is a real thrill to finally be able to hear them back together again. Whenever The Monkees are together, they always manage to be able to create something special. This album is no exception. From the opening riff of "Circle Sky" to the excitment of "You And I" and all points in-between, "JUSTUS" is more than just a brilliant piece of music-making- it is a masterpiece.

Free Music Review: One of the best Monkees Albums made!
Hit: 5 Stars

I got JUSTUS when I was working in a music department in 1996 and I have to say that I was very impressed.Considering that they have never done what they ended up doing (Writing, Playing, producing) this was great. In fact nobody believed that this WAS the Monkees I was playing. I highly recomend this album to All Monkees and non Monkees fans alike. Congrats to the guys for thier 90's sound. Too bad there wont be another album from them.

Free Music Review: Wonderful album
Hit: 5 Stars

Their music has grown and evolved. Caveat: this is just them--don't expect it to sound like their old stuff. They are minus the stable of songwriters they had. Each of the Monkees wrote and sang the songs for this album. Circle Sky has even more energy to it than the live cut used in the movie Head. Their voices still sound great. The songs are great. It's hard to single one out as the best on the album.

Free Music Review: a fabulous reteaming of a great band
Hit: 5 Stars

Finally the greatest band of the century have given us new music. This much awaited and anticipated album is a must for any true Monkees fan. All 4 orignal memebers have come together to mke this masterpiece. They sound awesome from the Circle Sky remake to the brand new tracks. They still have the magic and luckily time has been gentle there fabulous voices.
