In 1991,Rhino Records released a Monkees box set called "Listen To The Band"-Ten years later,this anthology was released-Supposedly,it contained a lot more songs that the previous collection didn't have-While I was never a huge fan of "The Monkees" TV series,the music itself was a different story-The top songwriters of the time such as Carole King & Neil Diamond were brought in to create songs for this prefabricated group-There is also a massive booklet that describes the history of the group-If you're a fan of 60's music,this one belongs in your collection.Free Music Review: This Is The Best Piece Of Monkee Memoribilia I Own!!!!!

If you love the Monkees then this is most deffinetly a must! I love it especially all the background information that you get inside about each song! My fav song has to be Gonna Buy Me A Dog because the brilliant thing is that they give you the 'bloopers' version. What I mean is that as Micky and Davy sing the song they have a good all laugh on it to which is really funny!I bought this today [at a good price]in the United Kingdom to me this was a great price and I think it is deffinetly worth every penny!

I love the monkees,music and tv show,and only had a couple albums,so I was darn happy when I saw this in the store!4 CDs that are a good overview of each part of their career each represent.I couldn't beleve the good songs on here that weren't included on the albums for some inexplicable reason!Great liner notes included,with folks like boyce and hart commenting.Great songs from a great band.However,the 4th disc is,um,an acquired taste.Free Music Review: Nostalgia revisited

Fantastic. I love this stuff. Why? Because you can't take life seriously when you are listening to The Monkees box set. The newer stuff on here I don't like, you can keep it. I don't think these guys realized it at the time, that they had industry powerhouses cranking out some great music... yeah, there are some clunkers, but who cares.. still worth getting.Free Music Review: Love those 5 Stars
I just love the box set my husband does too he listens to them all the time. So do I. I love the book its says so much more about the songs they sang and how it came to be written. It's so interesting you will enjoy the set very much if you get one the cd's are great as well hours and hours of listening. It's pretty
