Free Music Notes for Monty Python's Spamalot (2005 Original Broadway Cast)Free Music Review: Tappin' Knights Hit: 5 Stars
It was listening to this CD that made me want to see the show on Broadway. The show I saw had Clay Aiken in it, he did a great job. This recording has David Hyde Pierce as Robin and, of course, he is great, too. The show is hilarious and every time I hear this CD I remember the stage business that accompanied this music. These songs are send-ups of classic Broadway show tunes. I don't know if the album stands on its own if you haven't seen the show. But, if you enjoyed Monty Python's previous CD's you should like this one also. It'll make you want to dance and sing.
Free Music Review: Monty Python Lives!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Eric Idle could have a promising career as a Broadway show writer. Spamalot is true to Python, with an edge to its modern satire. When I first heard that Spamalot was in the works, I thought someone was going to ruin an excellent set of memories, (like the movie Sgt. Pepper did to the Beatles), I couldn't have been more wrong. There were some modifications of the original story so it could be performed on stage, but the spirit is true. As an added bonus, the performers have excellent singing voices so the music is entertaining in its own right.
Free Music Review: Just too funny! Hit: 5 Stars
I went to the touring production of Spamalot at a difficult time in my life and it made me laugh hysterically for 2 solid hours. The CD does the same thing. The songs are a mix of familiar Monty Python tunes and new catchy songs that you will find yourself humming and smiling over. "The song that goes like this" and others are extremely witty, as you would expect from Eric Idle, and the "Lady of the Lake and her Laker Girls" can't help but make you laugh. Even if you haven't seen Spamalot on stage this CD is a must-have to brighten your day.

The singers are fabulous, especially Sara Ramirez who had such great numbers such as "Find your grail" and "Whatever happened to my part" Anyone who listens to this CD will listen to the show constantly nad find themselves singing along to "His name is Lancelot", the "Song that goes like this", and "Act 2 Finale" This is a great show and you should definitely buy it!!
