Mesmerizing and seductive, never has a singer recorded a greater album of gorgeous & hypnotic songs with extraordinary performances quite like these. Opening with Kander/Ebb gem "It's A Quite Thing" featuring a gorgeous and fine Morgana vooal that enchants, it is clear from this magical listening experience this is going to be a enchanting collection unlike any other. The magnificent Diva supreme does Jobim classic's unlike any other singer making "Dindi" definitive and this ethereal performance is divine as is "Useless Landscape". "Mountain High, Valley Low" show that Ms. King is just as at home with a rhythmic song as a ballad & this is because of her brilliant jazz sense with a song. Rhythmic timing perfection and loose vocal improvising make Morgana the peerless master of using her fine & flexable voice like an instrument with a range and scope that defies description.
Another Jobim classic is given a definitive reading and never has anyone come close to Morgana's masterful "How Insensitive" which define what great jazz and torch singing with deep soulfulness is all about. Glorious song is one to get lost in and savor in its complete brilliance. Sweeping and sublime, this is it!
Another great standard, by legendary Burke/Van Heusen team, is a stunner and never has anyone come close to the pathos of "Here's That Rainy Day" like Morgana making this a deeply moving and extraordinary listening experience.
