Free Music Review: Whats wrong with Motley Fans???
Hit: 5 Stars

For the first time in the bands career, Nikki Sixx actually had a real songwriting partner in John Corabi. What came out of that was an album that may very well pass "Shout" as Motley Crue's greatest album EVER! Go into your collection and listen to Dr. Feelgood again~ then listen to the Crabby Crue album and you'll see what I mean. Corabi gave the Crue balls again!
On top of John Corabi's excellent songwriting and singing, he also played guitar which left Mick Mars open to do some of his best lead guitar work since Shout.
Also, one thing that MUST BE NOTED...Tommy Lee is phenominal on this album! I doesn't matter if I spelled Phenominal right or not...TOMMY LEE IS PHENOMINAL ON THIS ALBUM! If your a Drummer you HAVE to go out and get this album...no question.
The only thing bad about this album is that Motley fans didn't give it a chance. Almost everyone I've talked to said they listened to most of it ONCE and put it away cause it wasn't Crue. If it wasn't Crue then I'll make the statment right now...It was BETTER than Crue. But in essence IT WAS CRUE!
I like Vince, always have, but it's a shame that Motley fans choose to stay loyal to a guy who'll get drunk on stage and try to fight his fans on any givin night for not knowing the lyrics to his crappy solo material, rather than give a GREAT artist like John Corabi a chance in the spotlight.
Straight to the point...John Corabi brought out the best in Motley Crue period*
Corabi RULES!

Free Music Review: AMAZING album (but not really Motley)
Hit: 5 Stars

Even the band agrees that they should've used another name for this CD. But let's face it, you could've called this band anything, this album just KILLS! Enter singer/songwriter/rhythm guitarist John Corabi into the mix of Mars/Sixx/Lee and you have something magical. Corabi's vox are very powerful, he's such a good singer it's not even funny. Why he's so under-rated is a mystery. This CD is much grittier, rawer, darker, heavier than anything the band has done before (or even after). The production/sound is just mind-boggling, one of the best sounding albums to come out in '94 (and for a long time after)! Gone are the light-hearted party anthems that Vince Neil delivered with such gusto. The album is pretty varied, there are some acoustic bits (Driftaway, Misundertood), heavy down-tuned grungy riffs (Hooligan's Holiday, Uncle Jack), wailing guitar solos, powerful choruses (Power To The Music) some punky riffs (Smoke The Sky), and also a fair dose of atmospheric songs (Til Death Do Us Part) as well as some lighter moments (Poison Apples). This album is not easily digestable, you won't be humming these songs after one listen. This album needs some time. I can also wee why most Motley fans didn't embrace this album; it's a modern, dark, grungy album without the original singer. The 3 bonus tracks are also very good, they're not 'filler,' my favorite being "Livin' In The Know." A VERY strong album, even if it didn't show in the record sales.

Free Music Review: Generally underrated
Hit: 5 Stars

The crue's '94 release falls into that dark territory that the surface-scrratching fans like to avoid. Like a plagued product these CDs appear in used CDs stores at a rate higher than CDs by Warrant and Winger and everyone just chooses to reminise about the "good ol' times" when the band was "hungry / raw", whatever... MOTLEY CRUE is one of my personal favorites by the band and we can only guess what the "new" album would have sounded like if Vince stuck around. The new songs on Decade of Decadence (i.e. "Primal Scream", etc) reflected the new HARDER edge of the band that Vince's squeels were not the best possible filler. Enter John Corabi of the The Scream fame... I've heard many different comparisons as to whom him voice most resembles and probably the closest match is a combination of an older-era Steven Tyler and James Hatfield (minus the "ahrg" at the end of each word). In other words, the Crue dropped its glam edge and tried on a darker, much angrier suit and it really fit them well. Too bad "#9" is never coming out, we were all looking forwardd to that.

Anyway, don't be led to believe that MOTLEY CRUE is only for the hardcore fans, it's not just a great album, it's a MUST have for anyone who loves good angry blues-fed hard rock.

ong live the Crue and if you like Corabi check out his work with The Scream and Union

Free Music Review: Who is this?
Hit: 5 Stars

By far the best Motley album ever! Yes, even better than Shout! Why couldn't the rest of Motley's albums sound even close to this one? Did Vince have that much influence on the music? All I can say is Motley was a totally differen't band when Vince was gone. Motley finally got away from the glam and in my opinion went back in time to pick up where "Shout at the Devil" left off. Unfortunatley, the fans didn't respond to well to Vince's departure, and with grunge at it's peak this album didn't even have a chance. I like to think of this album as a hidden gem. One of the very few albums you can buy and get your money's worth. In my opinion there is not one bad song on this album. John Carabi took the music to another level and left you begging for more. It's too bad we only got one album from him with the Crue? He brought something back to the band that had been missing since the "Shout at the Devil" days. Not to take anything away from Vince, but for this one album the Crue was at their best. I highly recommend this album for the serious hard rockers who appreciate that "kicked in the teeth" type music. This is not for the glam/rock fans that may have liked Poison, Bon Jovi, etc. This a harder more raw Crue that is not watered down. Of course this in my opinion only. Try it for yourself and you will see what I'm talking about. Definatley a must have!!

Free Music Review: Easily The best Motley Crue CD ever
Hit: 5 Stars

I can't help but feel, that somewhere down the line- in the future, music critics will look back at this CD and say it was appropriate that THIS CD bore the title "Motley Crue". This is what Motley Crue should have sounded like all along. From the sonic assault of "Power To The Music", to the arrangements of "Misunderstood" this CD was the first true evidence that Nikki Sixx had lyrical genius potential. I apologize to all the Vince Neil fans out there, but John Corabi's vocal range puts Vince to shame. Also if you think about it, most[if not all] of the songs on "Generation Swine" were written with the thought that Corabi would perform the vocals. Probably why, when the Crue took Vince back and booted Corabi-[probably under pressure from record company execs to do so] the Generation Swine album suffered. That would have been a much better album also, had Corabi done the vocals. Well, I guess that's what happens when stuffed shirts at record companies decide selling records is more important than musical creativity.
Buy this CD, I promise you it will blow you away- if you like your music heavy and meaty- "Uncle Jack", Welcome To The Numb", "Drift Away" all classics. If you prefer to hear a lead singer who sounds like a 12 year old girl, well then all you have to do is buy any of the Crue CD"S that Vince sings on...
