Free Music Notes for Motley CrueFree Music Review: Good effort with John Corabi Hit: 4 Stars
While I still like Motley Crue with the original lineup, I still like this one album they did with John Corabi in 1994. This album rocks as much as the Vince Neil led albums. John has a gritty, raw voice that drives this set of songs. Misunderstood, and other numbers are good. I still like Poison Apples, the album's best song, which is the best one that John did for them. It rocks with attitude and I like the end where Tommy Lee sounds as if he's dismantling his drum kit as he finishes the song. While this album left a bad taste to some people, this is a very good effort with lots of emotional themes in the lyrics. John should be commended for performing during this period of the Crue.
Free Music Review: Only Vince is missing Hit: 4 Stars
When this album came out, "Hooligan's Holiday got a lot of airplay, but the radio stations I called refused to play any other songs off the album. Too bad, because "welcome to the numb" and "hammered" are even better than "Holligan". I thought it was a great album and if Vince hadnt split when he did, the Crue would be much bigger than they are today because of this album. I wish they would re-record it with Vince on vocals. The drumming on this album is Tommy Lee at his best. Very powerful, like Motley Crue's 1st album,"Too Fast For Love".
Free Music Review: Music is good but not the same Crue. Hit: 4 Stars
The music has a somewhat dark and heavy feel. It does not have the same "party" metal feel from the Vince Neil era. I think at the time they were trying to be in the same league as Prong, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Type O Negative, and other '90s bands. The addition of John Corabi's voice and guitar playing gave the music a heavy and dark feel. If you like Hellyeah then I would recommend this cd to you. But if you like the "party" metal vibe from the Vince Neil era, then forget it. They should have not called the band Motley Crue. The music in this disc is good though.
Free Music Review: Motley Corabi Hit: 4 Stars
Who's John Corabi? Where's Vince Neil? Initially, I dissed this record because of Neil's absence. Then I listened to it. It's a different sound -- more grunge than metal. However, different doesn't have to be bad. For the music, Corabi sounds perfect. This probably would not have worked if Vince was with the band. Sixx is still the primary songwriter so it's still Motley -- only harder. To the uninitiated, you wouldn't know it was Motley Crue if no one told you. Recommended, but only after you get the original Crue records.
Free Music Review: It was changing times for metal . Hit: 4 Stars
There's no doubt the early stuff was great , but when this album was recorded Hair bands were dieing & metal was in for a minute before grunge ruined music now everything is tecno crapp & no solo's . This music is pretty good , pepole cried they wanted Vince back . This cd is better than anything scince Vince is back . If everybody would have given them a chance who know's what might have came out . The real talent of crue was the combo of Tommy Lee & Nikki Sixx's music.
