Last night,I was fortunate enough to see Motley Crue perform at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis,I wanted to talk about the show,and with the success of my Motley Crue listmania list and my "So You'd Like To..." guide on how to become a die hard Motley Crue fan,I thought that I would tell you all about last night's show:
The show took about an hour to start due to sound problems,but once the show was getting ready to start,the roller coaster had just begun. A midget provided the introduction for the show,and after watching a pretty funny cartoon that showed how Motley Crue got back together and showed the original line-up of The Crue(Vince Neil,Nikki Sixx,Tommy Lee,and Mick Mars)as cartoon figures(which was hillarious getting to see a concept like that!)the actual show began. And once the show began,after The Crue provided an excellent intro with "Shout At The Devil '97"(which sounds GREAT when it is performed live!!!)they began playing songs from their next three records--"Looks That Kill","Live Wire","Too Fast For Love","Red Hot"(with a pretty funny introduction from Nikki Sixx before the song was played,I might add)"Louder Than Hell",etc.,and it was AWESOME when Vince Neil pointed his microphone towards the area of the crowd I was sitting at and let us sing a part of "Live Wire" that he decided NOT to sing(Vince is my favorite member of The Crue,so that was pretty exciting for me). And then,after The Crue had taken a break and their audience had been entertained with some more hillarious cartoons(they are the only band I know of that lets their audience watch a cartoon during their break and they are know the most considerate band I know of;if you do catch The Crue on their tour,wait until you see the cartoons they are showing,or if they show them when you see them),once it was time for Motley to come back onstage again,the same midget who had started the show got on a motorcycle,and after that,The Crue played "Girls,Girls,Girls","Wild Side",and "Primal Scream"-those songs sound great live! The videos they showed during their performances of those songs went along with the song they were playing,and I especially liked the parts with the girls(as well as the girls themselves)that were onstage during the performance of "Girls,Girls,Girls"!(as well as the other times those girls were onstage). Following that came performances of "Dr. Feelgood","Don't Go Away Mad(Just Go Away)",and then half of "Glitter" from "Generation Swine" mixed in with half of "Without You" from "Dr. Feelgood",and then a full version of "Home Sweet Home"(wait until the performance of that song--it is absolutely amazing--the lights were out,people were holding up candles,and Vince Neil let us sing along while some couples were dancing during the performance of that song). Unfortunately,I didn't get to stay for the whole show to avoid traffic from the concert,but what I saw was really good--wait until you see Tommy Lee's drum solo--it is AMAZING!!!! It took my breath away--from what I saw,Tommy was doing his own drum solo mixed in with "Planet Boom",one of Motley Crue's songs with John Corabi. The Crue are an amazing live band--the whole band is talented onstage,and while you shouldn't expect to see Mick Mars move around too much or speak(just because of his bone narrow disease--get better,Mick)you can expect to see Vince,Tommy,and Nikki say a lot of funny things when(or if)you see The Crue live(it was funny when Tommy told the audience that we sucked,and he said some funny things during his drum solo). The whole Motley Crue live act is just incredible!

Motley Crue - Greatest Hits Poster
Through lead-singer strife and domestic blisters, the Crüe have endured. Greatest Hits is a breather for the group and provides an opportunity to look back at the construction and destruction of this much-maligned multimillion-record-selling ensemble. Sure, much of what's here overlaps with Decade of Decadence, but we do get three tunes from Generation Swine ("Glitter" receives a tender remix) and an eight-panel foldout booklet with essays from each of the rug rats. Most important, two new tracks--"Bitter Pill" and "Enslaved"--feature golden-boy knob twiddler Bob Rock, who oversees two no-nonsense, no-electronics blasts through the candy-metal past.
