Free Music Review: Motley deliver the goods...A+++
Hit: 5 Stars

I am stunned at how good this album is. Although I hoped for the best, I was actually expecting to be disappointed, but the Crue have delivered some serious rock with Saints of Los Angeles. The CD opens with the roaring "Face Down in the Dirt," which is an all-out rocker, and it just doesn't let up through track 13.

The production of this album is excellent. The guitar tone is as raw as Mick sounds when they play live. It's loud & rude and aggressive from start to finish. Unlike some of the older Crue albums where the bass is buried and inaudible, Nikki's bass cuts through on each track. And then there's the drums. Up until now, I'd say Tommy's best playing was on their self-titled album featuring Corabi. But on SOLA, Tommy's playing is outstanding. He's creative and interesting without overplaying. Few drummers can pull that off, but Tommy does.

All the tracks are good, but my favorites are "Face Down in the Dirt," "Down at the Whiskey," "Just Another Psycho," and "This Ain't a Love Song." Interestingly, the title track on here sounds even better than the single I downloaded from iTunes.

Motley delivered the goods on this one.

Free Music Review: MOTLEY CRUE prove once more they are the kings of 80's metal
Hit: 5 Stars

Although not their best album (Shout at the Devil is still my favorite) Saints of Los Angeles is as great as Dr. Feelgood, and better than Theater of Pain. Considering this is the first real Motley Crue album in almost 20 years (I know there were other albums in between but either Vince or Tommy was absent from the production), I thought it could have been better, but the band still shows that they have the strength to enter the new mainstream of Metal without getting lost in the Nu-Metal sound.

The heart of the album centers on two songs in particular "Saints of Los Angeles" and "M.F. of the year" and is loosely based on the Crue's tell all book "The Dirt." Other tracks definitely worth checking out include "Chicks = Trouble", "The Animal in Me", "Just Another Psycho", and "This ain't No Love Song". The other tracks on the album are good but they are too tuned towards the Crue book, and really do not stand on their own.

Even though there are a few bad tracks (every album released by any band always has a few duds), the majority of this album is definitely worth a listen. My daughter even liked it, and she is definitely NOT a Motley Crue fan.

Free Music Review: a pleasent surprise
Hit: 5 Stars

I have to admit that when i saw that they were releasing a new album i wasnt that excited. Having been a Crue fan for many years i thought great another band ruining their legacy. I listened to the previews on Amazon and was not impressed. Still with their upcoming cruefest tour and having tickets i was still curious. i said to myself why not? its only 10bucks. so i ordered it. Now being able to listen to the songs in their entirety and unedited i have to admit that i was blown away! this is an excellent cd. it doesnt sound dated unlike some oftheir early stuff and you know it is the crue. no wuss power ballad on here. its a slower song and i guess would be considered a ballad, kinda along the same lines of system of a down's chop suey. the songs are good, very solid. i honestly think that if it is not better than shot at the devil it is a very close second. although not all of the songs are better than some of their previous work the cd from start to finish is great and that was something that they hadnt accomplished. thats my opinion. i reccommend this cd to anyone who has ever liked motley and fans of hard rock/ heavy metal.

Free Music Review: Welcome Back Motley Crue!
Hit: 5 Stars

I love this album! From beginning to end this is a fantastic collection of songs from a band that refuses to make the same record over and over. Motley Crue has put together an album of diverse and fresh sounding rock that is both new and completely Motley Crue. I like it more every time I listen to it. When I'm not listening to Saints of Los Angeles I find myself singing these songs in my head, and I can't wait to get back to listen to it again. There are great songs here like Down at the Whiskey, Face in the Dirt, MF'er of the Year. Frankly, all of these songs are catchy and get better with every listen.

The band sounds great - Tommy's drumming is complex and full of energy. Mic's guitar is gritty and creative. Vince sounds better then ever, and Nikki pulls everything together.

If you are a long time fan of Motley Crue, or just a fan of modern hard rock I suggest you give this CD a listen, then another listen, and another, and another. It gets better and better.

Free Music Review: THE RETURN OF MOTLEY 5 Stars

Well, what more can you ask from this merry band of weather-weary rock n' roll warriors? To come up with an eccletic and very entertaining slab of 80's-inspired metal for the 21st century, proving once and for all to the thousands of nay-sayers out there that good music is still alive and well in 2008!!
For someone who's been following their ups and downs since 1987, I've got to say that the Crue have certainly come up with a CD that captures many of their musical styles and influences that were evident in such masterpieces as Shout at the Devil, Dr. Feelgood and even a very underrated yet amazing self titled debut recorded with John Corabi.

Do yourselves a favour and buy this disc PRONTO!!! You can't go wrong with the SAINTS OF LOS ANGELES!!!
