Free Music Review: Wow, does this rock!
Hit: 5 Stars

Motley Crue always had a heavy sound, but never more than on this early '80s hard rock classic. No one can claim this effort sells out, as it has a raw sound with no ballads. The title track is a legendary, fist-pumping hard rocker, while "Looks That Kill" just shreads. "Helter Skelter" is a catchy, hard rocking cover. "Red Hot" flat out smokes. "Too Young To Fall In Love" is a classic, catchy anthem--not near a ballad but perhaps the closest thing to one on this album. "Ten Seconds To Love" is another fist-pumping anthem.

This is, quite simply, one of those albums that opened the doors for 1980s "glam rock", "hair metal", or whatever you want to call it. Sure, the stuck-up music critics and "flavor of the week" pop music groupees deride this kind of music today; but if you listened to this stuff in the days it was most popular, you know how much fun this music is. Not to be taken seriously--just something to have fun and rock out to. What a concept!

Free Music Review: Hard Pounding Drums and Catchy Choruses
Hit: 5 Stars

This record is pretty much in the same vein as the Crue's debut of Too Fast for Love -- Sleazy, sloppy, and trashy but in an energetic fun way. The production is much better though and singer Vince Neil puts in a nasty vocal performance just like on Too Fast for Love, but the band musically performs better.

Tommy Lee never skips a beat with his hard hitting and harsh pounding drum beats. It still has the raw metal garage sound with songs like "To Young To Fall In Love" and "Looks That Kill" that became all-time Crue classics. The songs have memorable guitar riffs and catchy choruses. The title track got them branded as satan worshipers, which they aren't, but the publicity certainly didn't hurt their career.

Free Music Review: like hard rock mixed with glam look no further

ive got all motleys albums and ive got to say this is one of my favs this is the album that started to get motley noticed its a very well written album with nikki's angry lyrics all the songs are great but there are some that just jump out at you with just one listen songs such as TOO YOUNG TO FALL IN LOVE how this song wasnt on the best of beats me and other songs like LOOKS THAT KILL and KNOCK THEM DEAD KID also if you buy this album you get an extra song which motley at the time didnt think was strong enough for the album which is I WILL SURVIVE (why it didnt get on the album i cant understand) dont pe put of by the title of the album SHOUT AT THE DEVIL as motley crue ARE DEFINATLEY NOT SATAN WORSHIPERS just nikki messing around with black magic for a laugh but if you like your hard rock mixed with glam get this album and any other motley albums theyre all great

Free Music Review: This is one of the best rock albums of all time!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

SHOUT AT THE DEVIL by MOTLEY CRUE is without a doubt, one of the best rock albums ever made. This album has everything that is decadent about rock music, sex, drugs, satan, that is a winning formula in my opinion. [Heck] the album starts off with Vincent Price, the great horror movie actor, giving us an gloomy introduction to the album. The killer songs on this album are: SHOUT AT THE DEVIL, LOOKS THAT KILL, TO YOUNG TO FALL IN LOVE, BASTARD. The group also gives us a awesome cover of the Beatles song HELTER SKELTER, which has a more menaceing sound than the original. Although the group has sadly been lumped in with 80's band, MOTLEY CRUE is a true rockin band that will never go out of style. Their sound and attitude is so much better than alot of the rock bands that are popular today. This is an essential rock album to have in your collection.

I saw a heck of a lot of 'ones' here for reviews and I feel I must come to Motleys aide. This is arguably the best Crue cd made. How can someone give this cd a one AND be a Crue fan? Who do they think they are fooling? This recording has been out for 17 years ... they are now suddenly getting on here and saying they don't like it? I find it hard to believe a "fan" of the group could give this cd lower than a 3. THIS IS THEIR DEFINITIVE WORKS FOR GODSAKE! Seems fishy to me, my guess is they don't like Motley Crue, how can I tell? Well for starters they call them the "Motley CURE" and say things like "this cd is bad produced" Bad produced? More like bad English ... not the group. I would never review groups in which I dislike all their material, whats the point in that?
