Free Music Review: This is where it all started, then slowly went downhill.
Hit: 5 Stars

I have owned a CD of this record since 1990. I owned the LP prior to that. When I saw this with bonus tracks and remastered, well I just had to have it. If you are not familiar with their debut recording, pick this up now. It has all that Shout at the Devil had plus a lot more. There is not a bad song on here, and now there are bonus tracks. Sorry, had to lick my lips for a second. The sound quality has improved and the video of Live Wire shows what the band were trying to do very early on. Kind of like Twisted Sister meets Kiss meets Sweet. The Crue are out on the road and heading to Pittsburgh at the end of August so I am sure new fans will be looking to pick up the old stuff. Rumuor has it that they are playing this album in its entirety on the tour. Listening to this makes one realize where the Crue kind of lost sight of the tracks there for awhile later in their career. This is the most consistent Crue record ever. Raw, energized, and hungry they were. Buy it and find out. Great stuff!

Free Music Review: Take Me To The Top!
Hit: 5 Stars

the only Crue album that i own and for good reason! on Too Fast For Love, the band sounds raw, crazed, and hungry! in other words...unstoppable! this is a classic album full of hot-blooded songs that rock with more of a trashy glam strut than a heavy metal vibe. owing more to New York Dolls than most of their contemporaries, the songs and the style are all killer. production is really raw and sounds like they might have recorded these in a garage, but that's what i like about it...very young and adolescent sounding. the drumming has some really peculiar production techniques applied to it...(just why is that overdubbed cowbell so loud? haha!), but in the end, the strange production adds a nice touch to it...a unique kind of gonzo charm. i like it. the bonus tracks on here are all pretty good but only their version of "Tonight" (originally peformed by The Rasberries) stands out as something truly special. great cd!

Free Music Review: Motley Crue : "Too Fast For Love"
Hit: 5 Stars

***** - FIVE STARS

The heaviest, raunchiest, coolest Crue you can buy.....

Not even "Shout At The Devil" could top this. This release defined a generation of kick ass 80's Metal. It still stands the test of time today as well....

Regardless of Motley's "Hair Metal" lable, this came out at a time when there was really no such thing. Nobody knew what a "Hair Metal" band sounded like, and I personally classified this as Punk / Sleaze Metal. "Too Fast For Love" was the rawest of the Crue days, and when thay were at their most impressive in my opinion. Nothing they did after this hit me quite the same....

The early days of Crue were truly untouchable. This is where it all started, and if you don't own this, you really can't call yourself a fan in my opinion.....

CUZ I'M ALIVE!!!!......

Free Music Review: As raw as it gets
Hit: 5 Stars

Motley Crue's debut album breaks almost all the rules of arrival, but then again, when did Crue ever follow rules?

The sound on the album is incredibly raw. Not too many (if any) special effects, advanced production techniques, or any studio tweaks to enhance the audio. No, this album is straight on rock from four guys who plugged in, cranked the distortion and volume, and just proceeded to play music to punch people in the teeth.

The initial track Livewire announces a new, more street oriented sound of early 80s music. The title track blitzes through with a post-punk early-metal blend.

The album is more or less a demo (as quoted by guitarist Mick Mars) and should not be judged by any other standards than they took this sound and changed the perception of the 80s hair metal rocker.

Free Music Review: One of Motley's and the eighties best
Hit: 5 Stars

This album was the beginning of the glam metal scene. Released in 1982 it only sold about 100,000 copies which is actually remarkable considering MTV or radio wouldn't go near it. Motley Crue combined mteal, punk, glam, and pop on this album. Singer Vince Neil never sounds better or more original then this disc. The songs are all catchy(usually under three minutes) and rock hard. Not a simple feat. Most metal bands drone on for 6-8 minuter per song. The album celebrates being young and the recklessness of not having a care in the world. The arenas would be calling on their next disc, but Motley was never better then right here.
