Free Music Review: Pure Motorhead, Pure Rock'N'Roll- A Great Intro To The Band!

For anyone who has ever felt a chill go down their spine when Motorhead vocalist Lemmy screams "We're all going to die!" in the hit "Ace of Spades", this extremely comprehensive compilation is a perfect addition to your CD collection. Whether you have every album, from "Overkill" to "We Are Motorhead", or, like me, this is your first Motorhead album, you must own this one! That's what's so perfect about this collection, it has something for everybody. There are plenty of hits as well as some live tracks and real rarities, such as the "Headgirl" tracks, which were a collaboration between Motorhead and the band Girlschool back in the early 80's. Topping it off is a very thorough essay examining the history of one of rock's greatest, but most underrated, bands. I have enjoyed Motorhead's music for years, but for some reason never bought any of their albums. They have had so many compilations come out, that it was just difficult knowing where to start. "Best Of Motorhead" proved to be a wise choice, as the track listing is flawless and I have become a sudden and diehard supporter of the band! Unlike all of the other compilations, this one does not ignore the band's most recent material, collecting excellent tracks from all of the band's 90's albums as well as the hits from their "classic" period in the 70's and early 80's. I only came away from the release with two gripes. One, I wish it had a better cover gallery, as Motorhead have some of the most dynamic and recognizable covers out there and I would love to see them get their due. Two, the album was too short! Sure, there are 40 magnificent tracks, but I could have easily listened to another 40! If you love hard rock, punk, heavy metal, or just headbanging, fist-in-the-air anthems, then do yourself a huge favor and get this CD! Lemmy will personally come to your house and kick your A$$ if you don't!!!
