My husband bought me this soundtrack because he was sick of me watching the dvd over and over again for the songs! It is a great soundtrack!!!The first cd has all of the main songs of the movie, including "Lady Marmalade". The second cd is a great compilation of songs heard mainly in the background or at the end credits.
If you liked the movie like I did, buy this soundtrack!

Like many people when I first herd of the musical movie "Moulin Rouge". I'm thinkning *What*?However the musical has proven to be a tresue and the voices of Ewan and Nichole are forever haunting and mystical.Wonderful dynamic music and art work.The dancing in the movie is superb.Too bad the movie/cd music has not goten the reconition that it so deserves.

I love the movie Moulin Rouge. It is an exciting story of truth,beauty,freedom,and mainly love. But the greatest part about it is the awesome music. I love all the songs on the soundtracks. Moulin Rouge already is a very very very good film, and so do the music in it! Moulin Rouge Collector's Edition include all songs in the movie! Including the killer track, Lady Marmalade and Come What May. This album is totally fabulous!

If you have already purchased the first two Moulin Rouge individual soundtracks, then do not waste your money buying this one. All the tracks are the same (and in the same order) as the first two discs. There is only a single "Lady Marmelade" remix added.Of course all the music in this edition is absolutely fantastic. But having purchased the first two single discs, I already knew that. I would have hoped that this disc would at least have put the songs from the two discs together in ORDER that they appear in the movie...but it isn't so. Basically it's like having the same two discs, in a different case.
If you have not purchased either of the previous soundtracks, then I WOULD recommend buying this one. Most of the songs directly from the movie are on here, and the instrumentals are beautiful...it's funny how a simple song ("Your Song") can take on such different meanings depending on the tempo/dynamic/instrumentals used. The instrumentals really show how well the music fit the mood of each scene.
There are some songs from the movie NOT included on here, that I really want to hear, including the Green Fairy bit, some of the intro dance mixes, and the final Satine/Christian/company song. Maybe there will be another collector's edition that we can pay even more money for, that will include all these songs.
Until then, enjoy this music which I highly recommend, unless you have already purchased the previous single discs.
