Free Music Notes for Moulin Rouge, Vol. 2 [Music from the Motion Picture]

Free Music Review: Yay! Volume 2!
Hit: 5 Stars

I didn't even know they were coming out with a second volume, and I saw it by chance in Borders one day. Needless to say, I bought it on the spot, took it home, and popped it in my CD player. I was not disappointed. All the songs are beautiful! I missed important numbers from the movie on the first volume and was ecstatic to find them on this one (Spectacular Spectacular and Bolero, most notably). Combined with the first CD, I barely even need to watch the movie. But of course I do since it is so great, as is this CD. I recommend it for all MR fans.

Free Music Review: Woohoo
Hit: 5 Stars

Alright! The perfect compliment to the first soundtrack this has the rest of the song apearing either briefly (Meet me in the Red Room) or completely (Like a Virgin & Spectacular Spectacular)
It also has several very nice instramental tracks including the closing credits which I was really looking for when the first ST came out!
Meet me in the Red Room is a great song and I am glad to finally hear it all.
The Come What May is excellent and has the whole scene version.
A must have for Moulin Rouge fans.

Free Music Review: More music from a great movie!
Hit: 5 Stars

Much as I loved the first "Moulin Rouge" soundtrack, I wished it contained more of the music from the movie as sung by the actors. If you felt the same way, this album is the answer to your prayers. It contains both instrumental background music from the film and previously unreleased songs such as "Like a Virgin" and "The Show Must Go On." If you weren't too keen on the movie, there's no need for you to buy this disc. For those of us who are obsessed with it, however, this album is a must-have!

Free Music Review: A must for fans of "Moulin Rouge"
Hit: 5 Stars

Either you loved this film or you despised it. I have to admit, I loved "Moulin Rouge" because it was bold, different and unapologetically theatrical.

The music is integral to the film and the volume II of the soundtrack has a lot of the desirable music. For example, the incomparable rendition of "Like a Virgin" by Jim Broadbent (a must-have for any fan of the film) and my personal favorite, the gushy "Come What May" ballad. Yeah, it's sometimes over the top, but in a good way...

Free Music Review: Waiting for the next one!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a good beginning for a gap filler, but there a more gaps! What I would like is a Moulin Rouge CD that has all of the songs from the film in the order of the film. If I want to watch the movie in my head while I am in the shower or driving, it is a little frustrating to hear the film version of Come What May before the film version of Like a Virgin. I will probably burn a CD, but there are songs that are not there! All in all a great buy for the true fan!
