Free Music Review: Needs at Least Five Listens, but then Its "Spectacular"

At first, I was disappointed with this CD. I thought it sounded tinny, and I was hoping the songs would be longer and livelier. However, I have now realized that both of these "faults" are purposeful. This CD is darker than the last one, and it focuses on Satina's life, commodification, and death. By featuring Satina's songs and experiences, it acts as her eulogy - and her biography. I highly recommend it. (And I do suspect that MR3 will be coming out soon.)Free Music Review: This CD rocks!

This CD, I feel, really added on to the first CD well. Although people are saying that the instrumental songs are boring, I find that my favorite song on the CD is the last one, "Bolero" which is an instrumental peice that was played during the ending credits of the movie. My opinion could very well differ from yours, though, as I am a HUGE moulin rouge fan. Those who aren't really moulin rouge fans, should leave this CD on the shelf.Free Music Review: What a sound track

I totally agree with the review that says there are two kinds of people in the world, those who loved Moulin Rouge and those who hated it...I loved it - and Volume 2 is amazing...listening to it reminds me of what creativity is all about. I couldn't imagine a more 21st Century musical - it's what all new musicals should aspire to be and this CD really hit the nail on the head... ...but only if you're in the half that loved the movie!

I love everything about this movie. The music is amazing and the instrumental songs on this CD are perfect. The first CD seemed to be more for a bunch of teenyboppers that wanted to hear the worst song on the whole CD (Lady Marmalade). If only they could combine the good songs from the first CD into this one.
I gave this 5 stars even though it's about a 4.5 because they split the soundtrack over two seperate cds.

I love the movie and the music, and love the first CD, but I was always wondering if they were ever going to release the theatrical version (the hilarious Like a Virgin was missing; and the movie version of Come What May was so poignant -- I liked the pop version, but was waiting for the movie version)... so they answered our prayers, and we're willing to shell out another [price] for the second CD... at least I am.
