I think this is the most beautiful opera ever written. I could listen to it all the time! As for this particular recording, Ramey has a voice to die for, even aside from his remarkable singing ability. Solti's interpretation results in a lush sound that never drags. This is a wonderful recording for people wanting to learn about opera or just starting to listen to it.
