Free Music Notes for Tomorrow Hit TodayFree Music Review: Great Music Still Lives Hit: 5 Stars
In 1998 when grunge music has been long dead Mudhoney produced what is arguably their best album. From the you-know-it's-a-hit-from-the-first-20 seconds A Thousand Forms of Mind to the equally brilliant Night Of The Hunted and Ghost this album never lets up until brief dead air after Beneath the Valley of the Underdog befor the secret song starts. Mike McCready of Pearl Jam listed this CD as one of his favorite of '98 and it's no wonder why.
Free Music Review: mudhoney rawks!! Hit: 5 Stars
as usual, a very fine album from the best band in the whole world. i have been excited for the new album for a long long time and it sure paid off. it sounded a bit more polished than their previous albums but it is by no means over-produced or fabricated. it is sheer mudhoney, pure and simple. the soul is there and the rest follows from that. i'm looking forward to seeing them on tour this fall with opening band the kent 3!
Free Music Review: They are going to knock you on the floor!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I have been waiting for a long time to hear new MUDHONEY!!! It has been worth the wait. From the opening hard sound on " A Thousand Forms..." you know your gona be Knocked On The Floor!!! The sound is put together in the most pefect way. The production is KEY! You must hear for yourself. If you have never heard Of the Mud...This would be a great place to start.
Free Music Review: Mudhoney: Tomorrow Hit Today = Great Hit: 5 Stars
This album, is beyond a doubt, the best album that has come out in a long time. From A thousand Forms of Mind to Beneath the Valley of the Underdog, the songs are well crafted as well as layered with the fine psychotic solo's mudhoney are known for. (not perfect to any Joe Satriani fans but perfect to me nonetheless) this album could not be better.
Free Music Review: Superfuzz Bigmuff meets Since We've Become Transluscent Hit: 4 Stars
i see this as the transition album between old mudhoney and new mudhoney. half the songs are heavier, thicker, and more like the 1989 mudhoney. the rest of the songs are faster, poppier, like the new.
the songs that stood out to me were
1) A Thousand Forms of Mind
5) Poisoned Water (Which is played live in the Chris Farley/David Spade film "Black Sheep")
12) Beneath the Valley of the Underdog
I much prefer the older Mudhoney, but I would still recommend this album to someone looking to build their Mudhoney collection, but only after you've bought Superfuzz Bigmuff and EGBDF.
