Free Music Notes for Multiplication Unplugged

Free Music Review: Oy! Turn it off!!
Hit: 1 Stars

Don't get me wrong -- I'd take a bullet for my kid without hesitating. But I cannot listen to this CD. I lived through five years of Raffi and his ilk without any difficulty, but this CD is so sickly-sweet and precious that no self-respecting four year old would listen to it. Honest! I tried several times to listen to this, telling myself it is a good format, presents the material really well, and no one is rapping. I tried. Really I did. But I failed. I cannot subject myself to this CD. Save yourself while you still can!

Free Music Review: Just Awful
Hit: 1 Stars

I bought this for my 9 yr old b/c she was having trouble committing multiplication tables to memory. We put it on in the car and even I couldn't bear to listen to it. There is no rhyme or repetition to these "songs". I'm a teacher and I was hoping to use them with my class, but I wouldn't dare put them through the agony of listening to this. Just a waste of money.

Free Music Review: Great Way to Teach Multiplication Tables
Hit: 5 Stars

I purchased this product for my granddaughter. My goal was to teach her the 12 multiplication tables during the the two weeks I was visiting the East coast. And, I succeeded. She learned all the tables with the help of this CD. I would totally recommend it for parents who are frustrated with their children comprehending math. I taught my granddaughter to listen several times to one table, write what she heard in a notebook. Next to her written list, I reversed the multiplication to a division problem, then to a fraction problem. She was able to hear the CD, write what she heard, reverse the multiplication to a division and then reduce fractions to the lowest common denominator - that gave her an extra study sheet, as well as an idea of how multiplication, division and reducing fractions all require the same conclusion.

Free Music Review: You won't stop singing them!
Hit: 4 Stars

I have not listened to other products designed to teach multiplication so am unable to compare. One of the reviews I read here on Amazon prior to my ordering it said that the songs were juvenile and babyish....so I was skeptical when I ordered. But, now that we are using it (we are homeschoolers) I am more than pleased. I wouldn't call the tunes juvenile or babyish, but they are simple....and for that I am glad. They get right to the point and have you singing by 4's,6's, 9's, etc. and right on into the multiplication problems themselves. It is right in line with the way Saxon Math (which we use) teaches the times table. My 2nd grader is singing the tunes constantly. Although he rarely ASKS to listen to them, I just play the ones that apply (they are organized nicely on the disc) and I hear him singing along in the next room. Warning...you, the parent, or anyone listening, will find that you can't stop singing them....they get drilled into your head even with very little listening time. I am comfortable recommending this product to anyone.

Free Music Review: Not as good as I hoped...
Hit: 2 Stars

My daughter lost interest in this quickly. I had hoped with all the good reveiws that I would have been happy with it. She is always playing music and singing songs but it just didn't catch her attention.
