Free Music Notes for H.A.A.R.P.: Live from Wembley (Region 2 DVD)Free Music Review: Muse = Best live act. Hit: 5 Stars
Ever went to your favorite artist's concert and was disappointed to find out they don't sound well live as they do on CD? NOT IF MUSE IS YOUR FAVORITE! Those guys probably sound better live than they do on CD. 100% serious ... & this DVD proves it. Not only do they sound good live, but they're also entertaining!!! Watching this concert will definitely show how much energy they have, although unfortunately, some of the slower songs tend to get boring.
Songs I personally skip:
Soldiers Poem
Unintended
That's it!!!! If you're a Muse fan, you should definitely buy this!
The only bad thing I've got to say about this is the audio CD. Why in hell did they not include all songs from the concert? WHY?
That is all I've got to say for now. Maybe if I don't feel lazy sometime later I'll review the performances song by song.
Free Music Review: Very well made concert DVD Hit: 5 Stars
After watching a few other MUSE videos and not liking how shaky the camera was I was worried this may be the same way. This DVD is great. The camera work is really intuitive. It doesn't jump around too much like some of the other MUSE videos I've seen.
The audio and video seem to be matched up perfectly. There are a ton of different point of views including an arial from a helicopter above the arena.
I know a lot of people are disappointed that certain tracks were not included but the ones that are included are great. This band is very talented. The visual of this show is pretty amazing.
The DVD does a good job of making you feel like you are there. There are a lot of up close shots of the crowd but it doesn't get in the way.
Good arrangements of the songs too.
Overall I am very happy with this.
Free Music Review: Muse is pure magic! Hit: 5 Stars
Ok...I have to admit that I discovered Muse by playing Guitar Hero III, and I feel a little ashamed that I didn't discover this band a long time ago. Muse is amazing. I'm always comparing this band to other bands that I like and I try to find similarities and I always hear new stuff that amazes me. So I came to the conclusion that if you are a fan of Queen, Radiohead and Pink Floyd then Muse is for you!
Now, this live album just shows me how powerful this band is live and how similar they sound to the actual CD. The recording is great except for the crowd noise. You can hear too much yelling from the girls in the crowd. But the DVD...oh the DVD. It's all you can ask for. Everything is great, the sound, the look, the camera shots, the editing...oh man I could go on.
Anyway, Muse is great, period.
Free Music Review: If only I could have been there... Hit: 5 Stars
This is a "must have" for anyone out there who considers themselves a Muser. They kicked serious a$$ at this show. Through the numerous times I've watched the DVD and listened to the CD I've noticed that they've definitely done a fair amount of touching up the sound on the CD and some of the riffs sound a bit different from DVD to CD, but that's not really a big deal to me as they've still kept their "sound." They also touched up Matt's voice cracking at the end of Take A Bow which you can hear on the DVD but is "fixed" on the CD. I just think that's kind of funny, really. Stockholm Syndrome, Plug In Baby, Apocalypse Please, and Blackout are definitely my favorites. This album gives me mega chills, especially some of Matt's killer guitar riffs. Frickin' awesome.
Free Music Review: One of the best live acts around flex their muscles Hit: 5 Stars
While extra features are rather slim (or none at all, to be precise), to get an audio CD AND a full-length concert DVD for under $20 is an outright steal. The footage of the concert itself is spot on, and the audio (on the concert DVD as well) is also fantastic.
If you've been a longtime fan, you'll be disappointed over some notable omissions, but with four full-length albums out now, expect a lot of old favorites to be left off of setlists from now own. Also, with the amount of energy these guys (especially Matthew, the lead singer) put forth into each show, to play any longer than two hours could spell death.
In short, a must for a fan, and cheap enough for someone fairly or even completely new to the band to pick up and see for themselves.
