Free Music Notes for Music From the Motion Picture Josie And The PussycatsFree Music Review: Well Worth The Money!! Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this CD the day it came out, as I already knew some of the songs before-hand {I was an extra in the movie when it was filmed in Vancouver}.... It is a fabulous CD! Kay Hanley does an amazing job on lead vocals, and it is just as awesome that the girls who played the Pussycats in the movie actually sang backup vocals!! My personal favorites are definatly "Spin Around", "Pretend To Be Nice" and "You're A Star", as well as DuJours "Backdoor Lover". I have already seen the movie twice and both times I found myself dancing along to the music! I highly recommend this CD to anyone who likes fun, rock dance music!!
Free Music Review: Minus the boy band immitation this CD ROCKS Hit: 5 Stars
I loved this CD, it has a very fast tempo, pop punk feel to it. My favorites where 3 small words, spin around amd real wild child. They are just awesome, they have has great quitars in it. The low points where dujour around the world, and backdoor lover, especially backdoor lover, I don't see why even though the song is in the movie they opted to put it on an other-wise orginal, creative album (probably to please all the little girls who fall in love with them @ the movie theater). Anyway Josie and The pussycat's bad part is "you don't see me" to slow for my opion. But if your looking for some feel good, happy music, this is it!
Free Music Review: This CD is TOTALLY SWEET and has a punky feel! GO GIRLS! Hit: 5 Stars
I have never heard such a girl-powered soundtrack and typically I dont like soundtracks but these songs are really catchy! My fav songs are Pretend to be nice, real wild child, spin, and 3 small words. I just saw the movies yesterday and I immediately thought, Wow, this has some really kewl muzic on it. I thought it was really funny how they included the DuJour tour---that was HILLARIOUS!!! The real voices on this track remind me of a girl version of blink-182. ACtually all of da songs kinda have a mixture of things. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CD!!! this is a ver ygood cd with some fuhnky sayings, but yet wise words!!
Free Music Review: Josie and the Pussycats Soundtrack Scoop Hit: 5 Stars
I think the soundtrack's awesome! It has a flirty sugar & spice twist. And if you totally love the movie, you'll love the music! This is sortta like Avril Lavigne meets No Secrets. Each song has a true meaning. I'd totally recomend it for anyone (maybe except BOYS!). My fave song is 3 Small Words. I know all you girls out there will like it! Trust me, you will be satisfied. I swear on the lid of a berry- flavored lip gloss owned by a California pre- teen. If you're not fully satisfied with what I have to say, smaple some tunes! And if you love this soundtrack, I would also recomend the Legally Blonde Soundtrack.
Free Music Review: Thank goodness! Hit: 5 Stars
How could this album miss? As other reviewers have pointed out there's Kay Hanley, Adam Schlesinger, and Matthew Sweet...but let's not overlook Dave Gibbs and Steve Hurley [of Gigolo Aunts fame (also contributors to "That Thing You Do" sndtrk.], Ric Menck [Velvet Crush], Jane Wiedlin [Go-Go's], etc. Songwriting talents of Gibbs, Hurley, Schlesinger [among many others] are pure pop genius keeping the hope alive that good music will yet return to the airwaves! Harmony and melody are not yet extinct, and tapping your toes with a smile planted firmly on your face is not such a horrible thing after all.
