Josie and the Pussycats is the best soundtrack and movie Music Review: I am SO glad I finally found this CD!
Hit: 5 Stars I had been wanting the Josie and the Pussycats soundtrack for nearly a year. I looked everywhere for it, including CD stores, bookstores, and places like Walmart, but sadly, I was unable to find it. I was upset about it, but I finally found it at the flea market in my hometown 2 days ago! I listened to all of it and it was awesome! And one of my favorite bands, Daze Off, sang one of their songs, "3 Small Words" at one of their concerts. Overall, the best songs on this CD are "Shapeshifter", "You're A Star", and "Money". I love every song on it though!

Free Music Review: Better than the film!
Hit: 5 Stars

Forget the lukewarm box-office reception to the film itself--this is finely crafted pop-punk at its best. It's extremely listenable, and the clever songwriting makes those repeat listenings rewarding. Just one snoozer track--"You Don't See Me"--interrupts the flow of otherwise upbeat, well-crafted tracks. Even the boy-band sendups from DuJour are a riot. If you liked the single "3 Small Words" but weren't sure about committing to the whole disc, rest assured that it's not a fluke--the rest of the album delivers as well.

Free Music Review: The music is definitely better quality than the movie
Hit: 5 Stars

Like any loyal Archie comics fan, I was ecstatic to find ou that Josie and her plas were making it to the big screen. Unfortunately, though, the movie was contrived and was more like VH1 Behind the Music of the Supremes combined with Internet conspiracy theories. I was disappointed and the only thing that made it worthwhile was this soundtrack. I would have liked it better if Kay Hanley had been allowed to write the songs because normally her lyrics are of a better quality. The beats rock and her voice, as usually is great.

Free Music Review: Lots of Energy and Fun Music
Hit: 5 Stars

This soundtrack is so packed with energy. That's what made me get it. It is fun, punk-inspired music. For anyone familiar with the original Josie & the Pussycats, this is a big change! But it is a great and updated change! The original music sounds dated, as it should since it is from the '70's... but for a film that was updated for 2001, the music has the same fun and cliched topics as the original songs did but with a new twist. I highly recommend giving it a chance if you want high energy, fun music!
